Took it shopping mainly to find out if it would start ok.
it did, but recently I've been finding the battery completely and utterly flat.
I've completely removed some additional wiring I have put in, so it can't be that.
The boot lid is always properly closed and the doors are shut and locked so is there anything else that might drain the battery over a few days?

It could simply be that the battery itself is the problem.

Yes, Chris, I'm suspecting that's the case. I'll take it to my local garage who have a tester as soon as they have a free slot.
it's a Varta still in guarantee, fortunately.

It could be a failed diode pack in the alternator but always worth checking the battery first.

Finally got my car back from FW Motorsport after having all the suspension bushes replaced ( from MRP ).Was a pig of a job to do,they all had to be cut out.New bolts from Mazda, and Fergus had to machine new bush sleeves. Was worth the wait though as the feel and the handling of the car is awesome. Fast road and track geometry set up. Can’t wait to try it on the track at Combe next month. :D :D

Taxed it again after being off the road for April. Even gave it a clean yesterday.
Lovely drive this morning while the sun was out, sunroof down.

Though had a bit of an issue coming back from this evenings meet.
I'd plugged all the rear bulbs into their holders, but forgotten to pop them into the lights.
Flashed by a lorry as soon as I joined the A42 so pulled into a lay by to see what was up. If I'd have not put the bulbs in at all then the dash would have told me this morning. Whoops.
Don't get distracted.

Went to Essex Rotary yesterday to get my suspension adjusted after bedded in.

I swear Aston has more rx7/8s everytime I go there. A couple of lovely rx7fb's seem to be new to the collection.

Got the RX-8 compression tested great results for a £600 quid car and gave Alex some jib for selling his... Well he does still have it so that all good. Had a great day at Silverstone and the car performed admirably around the track.

Can't wait for more track action!ImageImageImage
