Good news, Paul.
May I ask did you previously agree that value with the insurance company or did they decide that when you claimed (or....)

Pretty sure it was agreed value. I was expecting to be low balled due to the market value of rx8s but was pleasantly surprised to be honest.

Had a busy day at Boston Rotary, well Pete did and I contributed a very little bit...
PZ suspension on,
Minimap,
SOHN fitted
Engine, gearbox, and diff oils all changed
Compression tested...
... and a replacement rubber boot lid seal fitted! 😀

These are the comp test results:
Front rotor @250 Rpm
7.5
7.4
7.5
Rear Rotor @250 Rpm
7
6.8
7
Which I'm very happy about, considering the engine has done 53000.
Unfortunately, we found rust on the sump, and the oil cooler pipes on the nearside are looking a bit dodgy too.
This trip is turning out more expensive than i had anticipated, but is better to know that not i suppose. Why does the rust have to attack all the really important, expensive bits?
Many thanks to Pete for his hard work, good advice, and hospitality.

That Revi scoop is much bigger than I thought they were. It must gather a lot of air which can only be a good thing.

Good figures those :thumleft: Atleast once you're done replacing the parts you need to, you're also safe in the knowledge you'll start replacing stuff you really dont need to. Upgrade itus is a serious illness around here!

I trust you have a "friendly" MOT tester as that offset is very close to "Taking the p!ss"

Certainly looks beyond legal in some of the pics.

Not my 8, but it was a lovely day here, so decided to take my 7 to a local car event only 15 minutes away, alongside the river Colne. Saw another 8 there, but forgot to take a pic

Everything from Model T Ford to Rolls, Ferraris and Lambos. A huge variety of cars, bikes and a few Military vehicles turned up. Good fundraising for the local Hospice and Sea Scouts, whose base is the lightship in last pic

With a bit of luck mine will be coming back from the insurance company in Thursday (at some time) so will then be getting ready for mot (replace exhaust at a minimum thanks again conan) then some goodies to go on (stainless strakes that look new) up to Rob to get the bumper and doors, then pz suspension. Rex won't know what hit it (apart from a wa..er BMW driver that is) then once the cars 100% get the pz alloys refurbished.
You've got to love the rx8 community for support and help.
Well done you lot.

Yes, car was deemed unsafe, due to exhaust damage, plus it needed to be assessed. Car is a class N rite off (non structural).
