I was perhaps naive but I am amazed at the amount of parts on sale that are not road legal / for track use only.
Not just pads, but exhausts , Cats, Suspension etc.

Yep. Joyous red tape. The irony being road legal stuff can be a bag of arses - cheapy brake pads, tyres etc sold by the thousands - compared to some supposedly illegal gear.

Cigarettes? Stuff as many of those in your mouth as you like though. :thumright: is a gervernmernt consperricy I tell you.

Jealous. No snow here yet

Fixed the coolant leak, it was an old hose clamp which came a bit loose, nothing serious. :thumleft:

Did anyone else notice on the BBC News last night, out in the snow, the voiceover was saying

"Some decided to stay at home, while others wished they had..."

Cut to a Blue RX8 stuck in a snow bank with the offside headlight and most of the wing missing :(

Took it to TW Whites in Orpington to get a shrapnel-free passenger airbag fitted (a slick operation - in and out in just over half an hour), then a short hop to LC Rotary for an interim service.

Sounds like you get the chance to have a nice fee upgrades! Never nice to have a damaged car though.

Removed the Lambo hinges and fitted the original ones which necessitated removing the bumper and wings. Whilst I was doing this Mihail arrived and and proceeded to do the same to his car.
We decided to swap the door looms as mine are already extended, 100% Mihails work on the looms.
So a straightforward job you probably think, hinges off one car, bolt onto other car! Oh no this is RX8 aftermarket hinge world so we had a few alignment niggles to sort with some brain power and a lump hammer, meanwhile it went dark!
We got it all sorted by 20:30 and Mihail set off on his 2 1/2hr drive home having left home at 7am this morning and I started work on my car at 8:30 and aside from a quick trip to B&Q for some cutting discs, and a sausage & onion bap, we never stopped.
I meanwhile have two door looms, 2 wings and a bumper to fit back onto my car tomorrow.
A great team effort, the Batrex now has wings!

Thought I'd change the oil in both my cars today, RX8 went fine but my other car was a disaster, the plug just spun in the sump with stripped threads.
IMG_20190203_164258.jpg
Took an hour to get it out then drove the RX8 for around and hour to get a new plug.
The RX8 started instantly even though I hadn't used it for nearly a month, the drive down put a grin on my face revving it out, was worried it may not excite anymore due to only having half the power of my winter hack but it still does and feels special :)

Swapped the Meister Coil Overs, Whiteline ARB fir original parts, removed spacers, refitted bumper and wings so that the front end sorted. Tomorrow hopefully get the Meisters and roll bar swapped at the back wheels back on and then after a full valet and parts clean up the car and bits will be going on sale.
