Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Unfortunately another black diamond disc bites the dust
I had a rear judder at donington yesterday , which I must add was a decent day ,weather was amazing just a few too many red flags , well over a dozen is pretty s**t . Great company with Neil , grayham big Pete and his mate.
So , who’s using what with best results???????
, I’m pretty sure they should be just within warranty but that will probably be the last I use them After the warranty expires .
How would I fair as I will now have surely change the pads too ??
Advice please

That seems to be the answer , this happened last time and they said that the discs was 20% better braking under testing than any other they soldChrisHolmes wrote:Don't buy drilled discs would be my advice!
And of course, as any complaint , I was the chesney hawks , no one else has suffered the problem . They were very good in offering me a huge discount on my current discs .

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
When researching discs in the past drilling and grooving seemed to cited as old fashioned and more cosmetic than anything else pad materials these days do not "gas" as older compounds did thus requiring grooves and holes to vent the gases.
My conclusion was that grooved and dimpled was about as "exotic" as I wanted to go and so far my discs have outlived two sets of 1144 pads and seem fine. Bought new, but second hand, I don't even know what brand they are!

Took it through a tunnel for the first time, under Manchester airport. Windows down, dropped to 2nd at about 35 and floored it, satisfying!

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
The rear Bose 6x9 was playing up, took it out and you can see why.
May have to cut the grill as it's a bit taller than the Bose.
I've replaced it with a 3.5ohm speaker, the Bose is 2 ohms so I tried another 2ohm speaker but it was really loud in comparison, this speaker seems to blend well with the front doors, installed just one side and it sounds better than stock panning from one side to the other.May have to cut the grill as it's a bit taller than the Bose.
