Installed the K&N panel air filter and took her around north Wales for a few days, following the WRC Wales event. First ‘proper’ long run since buying. Couldn’t have asked for better twisty roads around Snowdonia.

Constant grins! :D

Was on the lookout for other RX8s, but unfortunately none spotted.

Just by chance I noticed my front nearside tyre was wearing down to the banding on the outer edge  90% of the tread has still got about 6-7 mm left, so gutted about that. :( inspected the others and the two rears are similar :(

New set ordered from camskill

Been and had the alignment sorted, now busy putting the spare set of Sessanta’s on as I’m doing Thruxton tomorrow.
Then checked the pads as well, they were a little low, so now fitting some 1144’s too.

Had my suspension alignment set up at Walkinshaw Motor Racing. It has not been checked properly since fitting the Meisters 2 years ago and also following my two off track excursions during that time!
Rear camber was 3’ and fronts were toeing in 5mm! Now drives very differently and should be a lot different now on track at Thruxton tomorrow.

Filled it before the final leg of a very enjoyable round trip of home- Cardiff - Bath and back (over the w/e). BUT...
On the way back really noticed it pulls to the right on acceleration and to the left when I lift off. Not massively, but definitely.
Why would it do that?

Bad springs/shocks, worn bushes, bad tyre pressure, wheel alignment, so many different reasons

Was ment to pickup the kids, however my darling 6yr old son had switched all the lights on and deaded the battery!

So is it worth doing the reset as I've never done it before, but curiosity is getting me!

Discovered today that I have a slow flat on the offside rear tyre, which would explain the above.

Attempted patch for my apv(error code 2008) have replacement patch cables(split down harness), different colour coding(bugger), ecu end appears different as well(double bugger), so next step, full fault diagnostic of old cables/sockets required, then see if I can patch single cables, long that dull harness swap.

Robin
It will help it to relearn the trims and to idle properly sooner. A good drive should do the same but I've always found with mine after the battery has been disconnected that doing the reset works better ... without it I have to do a lot of left foot braking and messing around to avoid stalling at every traffic light or junction regardless of how far I've driven it.

Nice even wear on those tyres, so the alignment must be pretty good.

I was amazed how even the wear was and the fron N/S shoulder must just be down to all the long hard right hand corners and abrasive surface at Thruxton. Rockingham in November should even that out a bit!
I would recommend Fergus Walkinshaw for alignment. He is at Swerford just north of Oxford, well a bit more than just!

Looking at those tyres if looked like you had some fun Chris :-) I'm sure it's obvious, but swap the front set to the rear for the next trackday to help even out the shoulder wear. I also find it's worthwhile to get a tyre fitter to reverse the tyres on the rims after a while, to move the worn shoulders to the inside, if there's still plenty of general tread depth left. Only costs £10 a corner. I get 3-4 more trackdays out of a set that way. Only issue I've found is the RSRs are surprisingly good in the wet when new, but truly awful when down to 3-4mm!

I should have taken more notice of the warnings as that flat tyre must have been pretty flat when I was still using it.
As a result it is too damaged to repair and I have had to buy a replacement. 😢
