Got 4 new Pirelli's fitted today to replace the mismatched ditch finders it came to me on, unfortunately found out that 1 of the lovely r3 wheels has had an impact at some point as it's got a flat spot on the inner rim, damn potholes.
The guy reckoned I could get it repaired and gave me a company they use but it did balance up fine so no mad rush. Any experience of people repairing these?Image

The R3 wheels are forged, so I don't know if that may impact any repairs?

I've had other wheels repaired/ welded and all sorts before so know that wheels can be repaired, but as said, not sure if the fact that they are forged makes a difference...

The guy from Mazda on Track/ MOT Motorsport repaired mine and was both efficient and cost effective. He's midlands based IIRC.

so far today is proving to be a lot of messing around with masking tape on my spare seat of lights, i'm trying to get the right layout and angles for making some eyebrows.

Might be worth using some masking fluid instead of tape, used to use it years back on Lexan shells for RC cars and was far easier than tape for doing curves.

i have some of the fluid if i need it i can use it , but my tape is designed for making curves and its coping ok at the moment.
i just cant decide the exact shape i want them to look.

Installed oem bonnet strut kit. Got confused at instructions. Realised some of it doesn't apply to the R3. No more prop stick, but keeping it there just in case.

Body coloured my engine brace bar and fitted diy protective grills on the oil coolers (and touched up some bumper paint damage from someone reversing into Rex in a car park ) Image

Cool call. Putting mesh over the coolers is a much underrated and necessary mod IMO, compared to the usual fad mods. Dunno what Mazda were thinking leaving them exposed like that. At least the rad is angled and has a partial grille.

I fitted gutter guard to the rear of my car behind the exhaust and it looks fine.

Does the mesh cause any noticeable restriction to the airflow?
Remember watching a Guy Martin program on channel 4 where he was racing a modified Transit across the desert and the mesh screen was causing the van to overheat, removing the mesh lowered the temperatures quite a bit.
