Hopefully we switch to a NOx based tax system like the US. Would be great not having to pay tax

I've got the three pronged one, mines got a rubber coating on the ends and seems to work ok
Thought about fitting and oil sandwich filter but if I did I don't think there would be enough clearance.

This week I painted my wheels copper, the paint looks a bit more bling in real life than it did on the can so unsure ATM wether to tone it down a bit.
IMG_20180712_213719.jpg
When I had my wheels done a few months ago they were, due to a misunderstanding, done in a copper slip-like colour. it was a bit lairy for my liking so I went for something a bit more subtle (pic below is the first attempt that was changed)
Lairy ...... but great looking :thumright:

Had a look inside, has full fuel cell and surge tank set up in the back and a fancy looking racecar ignition on switches etc had a bottle of oil behind driver's seat so still rotary 😂

No idea of engine specs as the owner wasn't there

Good morning all.
So yesterday I was loosening of my steering Ujoint as steering to the right was very heavy. It slightly improved but ujoint is in really bad shape so ordered a new one for 10quid just need to source a press and change it out. Unfortunately to get right in to the joint I removed the airbox battery and coolant filler tank.
Whilst removing the coolant hose from the radiator to get it right out the way the radiator nipple crumbled and snapped lol. I driled and tapped a new hole added a new fitting with nipple and and reattached the hose.
I have a pressure test kit that fits onto the coolant tank pumped it up and the nipple I had installed was slightly leaking. So I ordered a new radiator last night and luckily it arrived today.
SO TODAY
Remvoed front bumper
Unbolted the the Aircon air condenser and let it hang down out the way.
Bled down radiator from plastic screw underneath and also from the coolant 14mm plug on the block.
Coolant was really black.
Put back in both plugs filled coolant tank to top with Scottish tap water.
Turned on the car let it run till temp guage starting rising. Turned off let it cool for about 10mins and then pulled the plugs.
The reason for letting it cool down again was cause water would have been piping hot and burnt my hands when draining from bottom.
And the reason for flushing with old radiator still on it because it was only leaking slightly on my test and if anything ever happened to new radiator can always pop old one back on the get me somewhere in an emergency.
Ok so I repeated flush 3 times untill all water was draining out clear.
Removed all the fan connectors and radiator rubber hoses and dropped it down underneath.
I had to be very careful not to put any tension or knock the Aircon lines going into the front of the air condenser as this is still pressurized with r134a gas and if by any chance u knock it hard enough it can blow off. Very unlikely but still had to be careful.
So now old radiator off with fans and in my garden swapped the fans over to the new radiator and put onto the car. Connected up all the hoses and fan connectors.
I filled system with antifeeze premix and needed about 8 litres. Connected battery turned on the car and let it run for about 5 mins with fans full blast. Engine sucked in some of the coolant so kept topping up untill it settled out. Turned car off let it cool and started up again left it running with cap of for a few minutes again till it started to heat up and to get all the air out. If u leave the cap of to long and fluid hits boiling point it will start to boil and go everywhere so I turned car off just as this was happening. Let it cool down refilled lost coolant to the fill line and put on the cap.
Job done I think.
I just realised that without the coolant cap on my car heaters dont get very hot. I was a bit worried but read somewhere that it's the pressurized coolant that flows to Ur heaters so I think everything is fine.

So that was my day cars all back together now but just wanted to post this to see if I missed a step or u guys think I should of done something else I would appreciate any advise.
Is it necessary to burp the system from the throttle body? And if so what's the steps.
Thanks for reading
Happy Sundays

Just waiting on the master cylinder so i gave the PZ it's first clean in ages, not sure how often Mazda would've done this on their forecourt. I really need to remove the boot lid and doors to get in all the little gaps but it's an improvement.

Fitted the rear discs, pads and braided brake lines and also cleaned and repainted the rear calipers to match the front. The brakes didn't want to bleed out properly so i replaced all 4 bleed screws but as yet i haven't tried again, it's been too hot.

Also replaced the plugs and leads with NGK Iridium plugs and silicon leads. The coils seemed in ok condition but i will replace those in the coming months after it passes it's mot.

I also fitted the new number plates with the model name and number on the bottom since the car never came with any other than ones with the dealership name on. I also fitted 2 new PZ number plates/plaques on the center console front and rear for that added special look. I grabbed those off ebay and they really are nice! I looked around for some Kuro sill plates but never see any but i will keep an eye open for a decent set for decent money.

Other than that i just replaced the interior and number plate bulbs with nice white leds to bring it "up to date". Looks loads better than the standard yellow-ish bulbs that were fitted.

I've also got a stainless decat on it's way along with some light mods, nothing major though.

Has anyone had any problems with bleeding brakes? I never had to do it with my VR 192 so i have zero experience with these.

Today I have finally got myself a private number plate. Not so much a mod on my car but it's going on my car so it counts haha.

When I am back from my holiday I will get it registered. Plates already ordered.

Abandoned her at Heathrow for a few days to pick up this 5 litre GT abomination in Los Angeles. The hire company wouldn't let me have the Camaro SS again as this time I'm dropping the car off in San Diego. So am slumming it. My job sucks.

Unusually, as my wife is away, I decided to park the car on the driveway. Bad idea, major scrapping noises as I drove in #-o

So, end up spending part of the evening cleaning the minor (phew), basically hard scraps, on the bottom of the sill and putting back the missing underseal.

Gotta get it out of the driveway tomorrow of course, carefully.

Actually yesterday, snubbed it to take the M3 to Car Limits which proved to be an incredible day far more educational and fun than a track day and for the instruction much better value.

Took Rexi for a quick drive to the pet shop via a dual carriage as she hasn’t been redlined in a day or so, turns out if you have a nearly empty tank and an empty boot the rear end gets a bit lively!
