Gapping side seals this afternoon, boring!
Detailed check of housings, rotors, end covers and irons returned from the ultrasonic and slurry blast cleaning confirms the guy who did the work there was a vandal. I have been back with the rotors and housings and got my money back plus the price of the rotor bearings which had the bearing overlay plating partially stripped. Owner was most apologetic and also angry with his worker who was not around when I returned.
The outside of the housings was poorly cleaned and the water jacket grooves and faces had not been touched at all!
The parts had not been rinsed dried before wrapping in cling film so there were salty deposits and stains on what should have been pristine surfaces.
At least they were degreased thoroughly!

Sold it. Impending company car, and could not justify the expense. Keep you eyes peeled late Jan for some parts coming up for sale.

Yes you did SeeJay - definitely a product I’ll be using for future needs. Looking like the better half’s Mini Cooper will be needing it soon.

Not today, but yesterday, my Vgate icar3 arrived and managed to pair it with both my car and phone (used forscan with wifi) read my power steering module fault code (1342-ff), believe it means it's fubar, so at least I know where I'm looking now, although I've read that some people have had this fault code and then had to replace the rack, everyone please keep your fingers crossed that it is the module please.

Realised I don't have any pics so gave it a quick wash off and took a few, poor light though unfortunately but better than nothing for the moment.

Certainly is, we live a mile or so away and are lucky enough to be able to see the planes coming in to land from our living room.

Embarrassingly though I can barely tell a Cessna from a 747!

Fitted AEM Induction kit which I bought of fellow member.
Filter is not on in this pic as I had just cleaned it and re-oiled it prior to attaching it .

I think you should take that MAF sensor back to Mazda & get them to fit a new R3 to it

I managed to leave my boot open for two days. Even just resting as if closed, the light comes on, so I managed to drain my battery. Cue my old man with his Citroen C3 and a pair of jump leads.
These newer cars are a pain. The negative terminal is completely inaccessible, so had to go chassis to chassis with the negative and just charge, but managed to avoid flooding my car, which was a big relief.

Coming up to a years ownership in January. Loved, nearly, every minute!
