Tidied the centre caps ready for new wheels in the new year...bought some shiny aluminium bolts to cut down on the rusty look..Think I'll go without a log/badge to start.

Then got sticky with the 6d carbon film, tbh its pretty good and unless you get up close and personal you would probably not know.

I spent Monday with Tim @ RX Motors, waiting for my MOT. Failed on headlight sensor missing it's arm, which i'd removed an hour previous because it was broken!
Picked the car up this morning, after I decided to keep the cheapy cat on. Car is much quieter!

Also spent some time talking about a possible turbo set up. Definitely on the list. If work goes well in Spring I'll have a very fun summer, fingers crossed!

    Oil leak ()
Nearside Front Anti-roll bar rubber bush deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement (2.4.G.2)

....and his name is Dave.

I've no idea where the belt is damaged, I can't find it. And the nail in the tyre is an odd advisory, but sure.

Is the 'offside rear nail' an aftermarket part? does it give another 20whp or so? :xmaswink:

Up~ rated my fuse boxer's with these new type of LED Mini fuses..

• Save time and money on expensive garage bills• Instant fault diagnosis without testing• Ideal for troublesome circuits where fuses often blow• Blown fuses glow• Universal colour coded by ampere• Easy to install - no tool required

you can get them from most Car electrical shops or a link below

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... +&_sacat=0

Glow fuses work in an effective way when it comes to maintaining your vehicle, even with very limited knowledge of car electrics. The faulty fuse is quickly identified as it glows when the fuse is blown. I going to do this to my partners car for her Christmas prezzy LOL......

any one using them I had one blow the the other day and saved me messing about locating the fault.....  :xmasthumleft:

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????

I had a really strange experience driving home tonight. I removed my front headlight levelling sensor arm for my MOT as it was broken. Unfortunately it failed because of this, and as a solution we removed the entire sensor. There was a yellow light on the dash but other than that it was OK.
But driving back in the rain tonight the light had gone off and my headlights were pointed as far down as they would go, which happens to be about 6 feet in front of the car. Very weird, and not much fun driving in the rain with about 8 feet visibility!
I can only assume the water shorted the open connector giving an extreme signal.
Slightly ironic that removing the sensor completely in order to pass the MOT resulted in a much more dangerous vehicle!

I'll be putting that back on tomorrow then.

Not strange at all...

The system that manages the headlight leveling would have detected the failed (missing) sensor and put the lights into the fail-safe position - which is as low as possible.

Well it wouldn't be strange if it just moved to that position and stayed there, but it doesn't. It appears to depend on how wet it is. That's the strange bit. The "system that manages the headlight levelling" doesn't seem to know wtf is going on and just seems to make an educated guess as to whether the sensor is installed or not, because it doesn't appear to know for sure. When the light comes on, suggesting it has spotted the sensor is missing the lights sit in a sensible position.

Managed to acquire some 2nd hand rear springs for the PZ, then had the springs shot-blasted, zinc-passivated and powder coated!

I know. The car’s felt inadequate in the tip department ever since Coombe. Now it doesn’t!
