New discs and pads fitted at the front. MOT passed with a few long term worries and one short term.

Washed (had it, that is), Shell V-Power filled and pre-mixed, tyre pressures checked, all unnecessary stuff removed from the boot, fluids checked/topped, GoPro suction cup tethered by a cable tie to the rear view mirror.

All that is missing is the b***** 3 m Micro-USB cable that was supposed to arrive yesterday (Ebay pond life sent 2x 2m instead).

Thanks Chris. Much appreciated, but no need.

I'm temporarily using the 2m that they sent me. I want to tuck it nicely around the windscreen frame or maybe even getting a new 5v converter and fit it by the reading lights.

Very kind of you to offer.

I went with all Alcantara - it just looks and feels so much better now, I love it! 8)

Steering wheel retrim top must have mod for me.

It's the only real mod that is always visually and physically used every time.

Do you have the after print outs by any chance and are they similar to these? http://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/vi ... 8#p1052766

I had mine done at the same place and noticed the car was a lot more twitchy afterwards, when I went to the carlimits day back in February the instructor said my car was the most sketchy road car he had been in in a while.

That's top work and the result is much more enjoyable :thumleft:

Being an 'audio guy' I sometimes get laughed at going to huge lengths to get the best noise out of things, but I argue it's one of the main senses that links you to your purchase. :)
Cheers, yeah I work in the AV field and so often the audio is overlooked in comparison to the visual side.

On the subject of audio I finally got a set of tweeters that should be direct replacements (soundwise) for the poor Bose ones, will hopefully fit them this afternoon and report back on any improvements.

They are rated highly on this thread on the RX8Club, I've got a different model but it's the same impedance and goes down to the same frequency (1KHZ) but has adjustable crossovers so should be an even better replacement.

Hi Wagner, get your self a piggy back fuse to put in the fuse box in the passenger footwell and connect your voltage dropper to that. There is loads of room to tuck the unit away into the bulkhead void, I have 4 in there on my car! The cable, 2m is more than enough. Can then be run up inside the door seal rubber and trim up the pillar across to the centre totally out of site.

Beeped it in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, held revs on the beep for several seconds numerous times during my laps at Castle Combe and the car never missed a beat.

I have never quite got on with the 8's throttle, I find it to be too long, so I fitted a throttle controller. It makes a difference, the car feels more responsive. Wouldn't say it's an essential mod but if you are fine tuning then it's good. It can only take 5 min to fit, mine took 40 as I hard wired it with plugs and also hid it ash tray.
I also won a voltage stabiliser cheap on eBay so chucked that in, main reason I got it was for the earthing part, I also put a couple more earth leads around the bay. Car does seem to be smoother and idles better, may be a placebo effect but I think it works!
