Great handling car and practical, but poorly geared. To get it to move quickly you had to keep it in the v-tec range, but unless you took it just into the red your next gear change would be outside of that and you'd have a fairly unpleasant rocking motion as you went through the gears. v-tec on off on off on off They fixed it with the 6 speed box and the iv-tec on the Civic but the Accord type-r.
I'm bound to upset someone with this, but the owners club was very elitist. You guys are much more friendly.............and tolerant of newbies!

Snap! Had a mini as well , put 70K miles on it and find myself wanting one again.
P.S. Is that mini in your pic a mini racing green late 80s limited edition?
Braking on track should be like doing a really nice poo...tapered ends and fat in the middle.
Hi and chodezilla - we've been wondering when you'd join in.

I was down at Super7 Autos yesterday and Jason who owns it was telling me about all his cars. He's reduced his collection to about 20 from 33 at the peak. 33 cars!!

Like a dozen or so random crappy cars for me until I got onto a half decent Mondeo mk1 with quad exhaust. 2.0 Si. Then I got a 4x4 version of the same car. Then some more crap cars, and then:
Nissan 100NX - several including a big project
Nissan Primera GT SE Mystic (the one that changed colour depending on viewing angle)
Subaru Impreza Classic remapped by Andy Forest 280BHP
Audi RS6 4.2 V8 Turbo (still own it but now breaking it - remapped to 500BHP)
Nissan Navara 2.5 TDi Pick Up Truck - nice and reliable for green laning and walking the dog (Still own)
BMW 328i - i just sold this last week, just got it while my RX8 is in RR getting the engine rebuilt and uprated bits and pieces
Mazda RX8 - Hopefully collect from Rotary Revs next week and then once the engine's bedded in gunna boost her.
Mini City - co-owned with my Mum when I was 17 (hated every second of its slowness, even though I am a girl!)
Cavalier SRi (very exciting after the mini..!)
Another Cavalier SRi (newer shape - was ok, have to be relatively sensible now I'm a Mum)
Audi Coupe 2.3 20v quattro (now we're talking..!)
Audi Coupe 2.6E (lollopy compared to the last one )
Audi A4 2.8 quattro (yawn)
Toyota Celica T-Sport (Whoop)
Toyota MR2 Roadster (Fun)
RX-8 PZ (and the rest is history....best car ever..!)
OK this list is quite long but i was importing and selling Japanese cars for a few years and there's a good chance i've missed a couple.

Well I've been driving for 23 years now and I used to get bored of my cars fairly quickly, so this may be a reasonably long list. But here we go:
Learnt to drive in: My Mothers Fiat Uno 1.0 Dad said if I could master the snatchy clutch in this horrible little tin box, I could drive anything!
My instructors Nissan Micra mk1 lovely easy car to drive
1st Car: VW Golf CL Mk1 Phase 1, 1.1ltr Partially funded by Mum and Dad as an 18th birthday present (Thanks guys). Really wanted a Mini, but I was so glad I got this instead. Fabulous car
2nd Car: Ford Fiesta Poplar Plus 1.0ltr mk2 What a rustbucket!
3rd car: VW Golf Driver 1.3ltr Mk1 Phase 2 All the looks of a GTi without the high insurance premium.
4th Car: Ford Fiesta XR2 1.6ltr mk2 My first "fast" car, suffered from terminal corrosion in the end. :-(
5th Car: Mazda 323F 1.6ltr My first Mazda! Lovely car with "sexy" pop up headlights. Unfortunately I killed it in a motorway pileup!
6th Car: Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6ltr What. A. Car! I never got the chance to own a MK1 Golf GTi, this more than made up for it!
7th Car: Peugeot 206 1.9D Company motor, my first diesel. Didn't like it.
8thCar: Peugeot 205 1.1ltr Needed something at short notice when I changed jobs and had to hand in the company motor. Got this very cheap (£400), turned out to be a ruthlessly reliable pleasure to drive! Who knew?
9th Car: Rover 216GSi The first of the "bubble shaped" 200's, it was an ex demo car, so was fitted with all manner of optional extras including a lovely pale grey leather interior. It was a great car to drive but sadly fell foul of terminal head gasket failure after a few years of ownership.
10th Car: Toyota MR2 2.0ltr G-Limited My first proper performance motor. This mk2 "mister two" was a Jap import so was very costly to insure and maintain. Fabulous car to drive when working correctly but hampered by recurring gearbox issues and high running costs, I only kept it for a year. Shame.
11th Car: Rover 214 SLi Due to a need for a more economical car to make regular lengthy motorway runs, I opted for the older, saloon bodied 214. Actually a very nice car and an excellent motorway cruiser. Still, a bit of a let down after the Toyotas blistering performance.
12th Car: Rover 214 GLi Rover as a company went bust. New Rovers were available at hugely discounted prices, so I thought "why not" and brought my first new car in 15+ years of driving. This late third gen "bubble" 200 was a lovely car, but I'll never take that kind of depreciation again!
13th Car: Fiat Punto JTD ELX mk2 1.9ltr TD Once again a need for greater fuel economy (The Rover was surprisingly thirsty for a 1.4 and fuel prices were on the rise at this point) led me to search for a more economical car. The diesel Fiat offered a genuine 50+ to the gallon and was fairly nippy too. Certainly not the most exciting car I've ever owned, but surprisingly reliable, practical and economical and actually really quite nice to drive. I wound up keeping this one for 7 years! The longest I've ever kept a car by quite a large margin.
However, as my wife now has a nearly new version of the same diesel powered Punto and as I no longer need a diesel workhorse, we finally arrive at my current car:
14th Car: Mazda RX-8 192ps In Titanium grey, completely unmolested original, wonderful car! 2 owners from new and only 20800 miles on the clock at the time of purchase. Not bad for an 11 year old car! Let hope I don't stack this Mazda in a motorway pile-up!
So there we have it, my complete car ownership history! Favourites were, in no particular order, the 205GTi, the MR2, the 216GSi, the Punto (amazingly) and of course the RX-8. Fastest was the MR2 (just quicker off the line than the RX-8). Best overall was probably the 205 GTi (again, only just) because it was so easy to drive fast. Prettiest was IMO the MR2. Most reliable was, obviously the 214GLi, because it was new, duh! See if you can guess which is the thirstiest? ;-)
