Always pays to haggle at renewal, not sure I can remember a time any insurance company hasn't dropped the price.

Did mine today, £320 down to £280. A-Plan for 3rd year running. :thumleft:

I called Adrian Flux the other day to arrange cover for my 05 that I'm buying in two weeks, they quoted me over $1500(American keyboard and can't find the pound sign). That was 10,000 miles a year, garaged, social and commuting, 3 years NCD. That was fully comped with a $1000 excess.
I did a price comparison online and the company I am with at the moment, 1st Central, apparently not the best to deal with but I have never had an issue, they quoted me just over 600, which is what I pay for my current car.

I'm with privilege. Never had to claim and they're a bit of a pain to deal with, but I get multi car discount and they're one of the cheaper ones for fully comp with business miles. Think I paid £650, but I'm 26 with 6 points on my licence...

Getting older has only one advantage--- cheaper car insurance!! I am knocking on a bit-- 49 , max no claims and mine is £170 inc my wife with protected no claims and breakdown cover.
29 years ago I bought an MG Metro turbo. I was paying £1050. that was a lot of money then. I was earning £600 pm.

Yes, we are now at the stage where the compulsory excess is more than the average rex is worth, so not only will they write the car off for a parking bump, but they will make you pay for it as well.

All to pay for uninsured 19 year old kn#bs in wide arch Vauxhall Corsas doing donuts in Tesco car park

(Not that I have a problem with insurance companies, you understand...... )

Should we merge "Insurance Quotes" with the "Vent your spleen" thread?

Car valued at £5,500 on the Agreed Valuation Policy with Adrian Flux. Same as last year despite the better compression.

Well worth the extra £30 premium in case Mr Maggoo wanders into me peering through a prescription windscreen :sign: :dsc: :banghead:

My quote was £274 with AXA + 15% multi car discount (11 years NCB) - I'm 37 no points/etc.

Then I found out I'd been a named driver on the policy all these years as it was a continuation from the missus' policy

Best I could get taking into the years as named driver was £380 with Premier, which I was reasonably pleased with. My old policy on our previous 2nd car was 3 years old so NCB would have expired.

Just glad insurance wasn't a deal breaker!

52 with 1 year NCD (Being a named driver on policies has knackered my NCD)
Admiral quote £6136....yes, that's right £6136.
Flux was another ridiculous quote at over £1200
Morethan was £571 with £350 excess.

Happy with that.
