A Flux with agreed valuation all sorted for another year for £380. Not bad for a lightly modded JDM import.
With prices for good cars on the rise I had hoped for a slightly higher valuation but £5,500 does the job.

Figured I'd have a look at normal insurance quotes for the 8 on the new address.. Gocompare came out to the 500 quid mark a year (up 200 quid from Scotland..) directline however? £1111.. Ehm.. Sorry what? 😂 5 years no claim bonus and you're tripling the quote you gave me last year because my address changed.. Won't be insuring the car until after I get a job.. But christ.. Likely will be going with RIES or similar.. But from the main brokers they're having a bit of a laugh it seems.

😂 I don't mind paying higher insurance. But not almost what I paid for the car and as if I basically had 0 no claims bonus! As it stands my insurance runs out on the 1st of Feb. Was going to change my address to here but as the car is still in scotland and they wanted 30 quid to change the address I'll be letting it run out. 😂 And will be informing them I won't be renewing next month. Car won't be being driven/sorted for MOT until I have a job.

Ahhhh...the benefits of being old. Both of my Rx8s cost £200 a year each for insurance. I think being spare cars helps, and on mileage of 5k and 7k per annum.

I am looking forward to the pay per mile car tax when it comes in. At the moment with our thirsty cars we get hammered at the pump and hammered with road tax on the post-April 2006 cars. But with pounds per mile, and there is a campaign to give each car a free mileage allowance, my motoring costs should plummet.

I have avoided posting on this thread and potentially looking smug, AKA, grey hair and living in rural Cumbria.
We now have a race to the bottom, last year I paid £144, any lower takers?

Seeing all of these insurance quotes honestly makes me sad. My last renewal was like £1600 and that was incredibly cheap

Yeah and that’s without my insurance paying out for my modifications if I bin it and take a pay out (obviously everything on my car is declared regardless to my insurance). The joys of being 21 am I right Image

I have 5 cars insured for less than that
1x 2011 Passat
1xRX7 FC
1xTT Roadster
1xTT Coupe
1x Range Rover Sport

But then I am far to close to 50 for comfort

That was for me, a couple of years ago but still the wrong side of 60 and no baseball cap.

I didn't take them up on the offer [-X

Re: Insurance Quotes

I just sorted out my insurance on the Nemesis YA56 and the S1 RR54 with Adrian Flux and I am pleasantly surprised at the outcome. All mods valued at full replacement value and that is scary when you total them up!

Nemesis All mods declared (Mods value £3128) Agree value of whole car £5128 Premium £ 267

S1 RR54 All Mods declared (Mods Value £20000) Agreed value for whole car £22000 Premium £ 283.80

The worst thing about doing this of course is that now my "disposable if binned" RX-8 seems to have a significant value so will that slow me down?
