Being only 18 , non comp insurance getting a lil bit more than 2 grand.. but honestly i dont even mind paying that much , girlfriends friend that has 1l corsa pays also 2 grand for insurance so .. id rather have rwd car for the same price :D , the only thing that annoys me with insurance i wouldnt even mind to pay like 2,5 maybe possibly 3 grand for insurance if i could declare atleast few mods, like i really badly want a rear wing ,alloys and cant put t hem legally as just ticking on insurance price goes from 2 grand to 9-10grand.. i know people said to me dont worry police doesnt care only if you crash but ive read some stories even on this forum that cops apparently do check the car quite deep so i might aswell just wait.. ( maybe ) .
its not the cops who care, its the insurance company, they will do anything to not payout. although if they dont pay out then the cops will care as that means your technically driving without insurance.

yea.. i know that, if i crash i crash but , when there's some big ass spoiler sitting i think cops would ask about if its declared or not. + honestly at this point id get [edited] anyway as i have decat installed, and i think majority of us would get f'ed by insurance companies as decat is technically not road approved right ?

Chris Knott is who I’m with. Not sure what they’re like with young drivers but worth trying.

Just waiting for quotes back from Adrian Flux but verbally they have advised it's unlikely they will be able to beat the Admiral Multicar price for the RX-8, M3 and Yaris which is currently £940.79!!!!!
REIS have sent me a quote and it will save me c£250. The RX-8 premium, which includes 6 track days, is £224 and strangely the M3 is also £224 and that's with class one business use!

No official quotes back yet but apparently it's not looking good to be able to get much below my present Admiral premium. They just dropped £100 upon receiving my not renewing email! As it may result in a better price your guy, forgot his name, us looking at individual quotes but has commented that including 6 track days will be a problem so it's not looking too promising.
Hope to hear something tomorrow.

quote from Adrian Flux, 3 years no claim discount they offered me a years comprehensive with a 4000 miles limit for £1240

price is alright, they couldnt beat the best i was offered which was about 1100 from memory but went with them because they have better reviews and a crazy system where they pay your excess back on any claims so there's essentially no excess

not a fan of the 4k mile limit but doubt i'll go over it

£160 today from Sainsbury's fully comp including commuting and NCB protection for my RX-8 231. That's significantly less than for my Avensis daily driver. This is one of the few perks of being 48 years old.

£320 fully comp, with legal and £250 excess. Up from last year by about £70, which might be down to me gaining 6 points, whoops

Still, pretty good all things considered.

Renewed my 2 cars today. Tried Chris Knott after hearing about them on here but was told their usual providers won't insure any xDrive BMW, even thought it's not an SUV, so that was disappointing.

Ended up going with A-Plan
RX8 was £370 all mods declared
BMW was £850

Didn't try Flux as they've never been able to get close to anyone else's figures in the past.
