Insurance Quotes

Post by GreySilver Beast »

Just thought I would give an update :P

I renewed my Car Insurance with LV at £457.22 =D> =D> =D> =D>

I wanted to make A-Plan work but they failed to beat LV even though at the last minute they said they would match the £457.22 :!: :!:

My way of thinking is they had plenty of opportunity to do that in the very first place, but instead they only beat the first figure by £4 #-o

At 25, I managed to get this year's quote to a very reasonable 320 for the year. (Having come down from 860 last year... I love passing that little mil(l/e)stone...

Not for my rx8, but in respect of my wife's Toyota Corolla....
Just had a renewal quote through for £1700!!!
Phoned the insurance company threatened to go elsewhere and 'because we will cut our commission on this occasion to keep your business' renewal premium now £995.
Chancing b*****!! I could have just let the insurance automatically renew and been lumped with the higher premium. Why don't they give you the best quote first time!!!

How on earth did you manage that?
I'm old, max no claims, no points or claims in the past five years, limited mileage and I work for Lloyds! Their quote was nowhere near that even with staff discount. Image

Insurance Quotes

Post by Metelyk »

Insurance Companies - what a bunch of crooks.
The reason for this rant??????
Part 1 - Wife's insurance renewal comes through £1700 (£950 previous year). Amount finally paid £1000.
Part 2 - My renewal quote £660 (£480). Amount finally paid £510.
In both cases, with different insurers, had we done nothing the policies would have automatically renewed at the higher premiums. Phone calls to the insurers brought both back to higher but similar amounts to the previous year.
Insurers are hoping most people allow automatic renewal. Millions are being fleeced. This is wrong!!

Had my renewal from Kwikfit £500 was shocked as last year was £250 with nothing changing

48 years young, 15 years ncb, clean licence of 31 years and north Wales post code.

Did comparison site stuff and went with Hastings premier with free car, windscreen, legal, breakdown cover and £200 excess with no additional all for £215 fully comp

I'm sure some insurance companies just try and rob you

28 years old, 1 years no claims (Mine all expired :( ) with Quote me happy is £39.21 a month with £300 excess fully comp.
Not bad considering i pay £42.99 a month with £0 excess for my Lexus IS200

When i hit 2 years no claims (August) the price would drop to £28 a month and £100 excess. It will also cover a turbo/supercharger if i decided to go that route.

I always go through Compare the market then start calling up the cheapest quotes and haggle them down. I start out with X company offers the same premium but zero excess. then once i have them match it i contact the second cheapest and haggle them down.

Quote me happy honestly delivered for me last year as they removed the deposit and the excess for me as i could show i had 4 years no claims previously which expired. So far the best company i've dealt with. Payments go out and never had any hassle from them so far. 9/10 would recommend to anyone. Would be a 10/10 if they had an online live chat option rather than email and 24 hour wait for reply (The replies are actually rather fast to be fair tho)

Doesn`t anyone use TopCashback? - just open an account then get your lowest Insurance quote you are going with and then go to that company through your Topcashback account and save money, but read the conditions for each company as they vary in how to qualify for the cash back. (eg. not on renewals)

Save up to £80 depending on the companies current offer - it really works.

Got an email from comparethemarket the other day giving their best renewal price of £430. When I checked it, it didn't include the subtle mods like airfilter, parking senses, front grill so I updated them.

Came back over £10000! lol

Its increased abit lol

Never accept the renewal quote! Churchill insurance alway gave me a ridiculous quote which was reduced significantly by spending a few minutes on the website. Once it was double what I got from a fresh web search. If still too pricey phone them and select the "thinking of leaving us" option....you'll be surprised how much they'll knock off to keep you.
I use LV which renews at the same price as a fresh web search. Cost £210.

I just had my renewal in from Sky Insurance for the Lexus, and nobody else can even come close - they quoted £375 for the renewal, where I paid £320 last year, but the best competing quote is £575 so far. Quite annoyed really.
To Do List: HKS CAMP2 install; cruise control; new exhaust; detail paintwork, possible respray

Done: Hayward Rotary rebuild and stage 2 port; Racing Beat ARBs, adjustable front droplinks, ram air intake and lightened flywheel; Exedy stage 1 clutch; Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs; Koyo radiator; heated front screen; EBC redstuff pads all round

Had my renewal also from Sky... £455 with all mods declared. Gave them a ring ... and now £350 + excess reduced by £150 WITH THE SAME COMPANY!!! Still trying to get my head round that.

It pays to give them a 5 minute phone call
