I'm sure if you've got something super special it's competitive, but for average Joe it would seem not. Still, no harm in calling them I suppose.
Yeah i agree, although to finally get the price took 45 minutes so it wasnt a quick process for me. No idea why they put me on hold so many time its quite a simple process and I dont have any points etc.
I think for non modified cars comparison site is good BUT if you have mods you must declare them then the quote normally goes up

Reis will be my first port of call even though they don't supply complimentary track cover for cars of our value. Though I'm uncertain as to the miles I'll be driving when I'm south.. Which makes mileage restricted policies hard to gauge.

Be careful about mileage restricted policies as;
- there can be a huge additional charge if your circumstances change and you find yourself going over the original limit.
- sometimes a policy limited to say 3k miles can cost more than exactly the same cover on a policy with a limit of 5k miles
That last one has happened to me four times now and it seems that the filters that brokers use when looking at limited mileage policies don't show those that would be cheaper with more miles. You have to tell them to check "What if I went with xK miles?"
Yeah Im rather worried about mileage limited ones. Think Reis has one at 7k or 5k miles... 7k maybe okay? But I couldnt guess how much actual traveling Ill be doing without... Getting a job first.

Yeah think yours is due to it already being agreed in your policy but when Chris went to take out a new policy on RR54 theyve introduced new valuations on if they do/don't cover you for their free track cover.. Which I guess is fair. Its not like Ima be doing heaps of track days to begin with anyway ahah.

I will be revisiting the “not a sports car” issue when my renewal comes up and with the mods done since I taking out this years policy I will be over the £5000 minimum value with the supercharger fitted.

I think if Dave makes headway with the club valuation stuff for insurers.. Alot of people would be able to say "hey my cars worth more than your minimum".. Which if it is but its proving hard to show that would be great.
I think just the value of what I've added to my car almost comes to half of what I paid for it.. Not including tyres and consumables.

I totally agree with this. I've just renewed with The AA and found that a 5k mile limit was cheaper than a 3k mile limit.
Looks like I'll have to do a few more trips in the coming year...
I just added "another" RX8 to my REIS multicar policy and it has cost an extra £122 including a £35 admin charge!
