Just had a look at quotes for my focus since it'll be up for renewal soon.. From directline.. £666.40 from comparison sites around 600 quid.. My last petrol focus was a 1.8 04 plate valued about the same as this one.. 350 quid a year.. Almost 700 quid a year with 4 years no claims, never had an accident.. They must be taking the P***. Can insure the 8 for less than that!

Talk to whoever you're insured with for your 8, multicar etc. - I ended up going with my home insurance provider for the 8, as I already had a policy with them so they gave me a quote that was less than the Vectra costs to insure for the year.

8s currently off the road. My quote for the focus from last year was 540 quid.. Seeing as I've been driving 5 years now with 4 years no claims.. Should be going down each year not up! Even with the % increase on insurance being what it is.. Doesn't account for a 120 quid jump.

Used to Insure my first RX-8 and Saab via NCB Mirror Ins with Sky Insurance

They all do that as most people cba to shop around again.

Sometimes a quick phone call back to them can halve or better the increase.

Nah Dave not the renewal that was me just looking. The renewals likely to be more I imagine. My dad's renewal was 530 quid and I managed to get him down to 300. Bit of a joke really.

Out of curiosity I checked quotes on the 8. Standard go compare searches 600 quid. Directline (current insurer) 460 quid. Why yes.. The 1.8tdci Ford focus ecobox with 1/4 the value of the 8 is higher because.. Insurance? Oh well.. I'll see what tripe Directline quote me for renewal soon I guess.
