It goes a LONG way past the empty line, you'll be fine. It goes pretty much halfway to the bottom of the 'E' on the R3

Not at all, I was up at Santa Pod yesterday. Drove there and back and that's a tank... 175 miles lol

I don't know how you guys do it most I have got is 186 in till light came on . Where am o going wrong what's the secret lol

Just filled up with 50ltrs after covering 254 miles from the Lake District to Cheltenham so 300 was on again.

Agree. I routinely get 250 miles from driving a mix of urban/motorway miles (200 when just urban). I earned the 300 (336) badge on a return trip to Norwich from Surrey.

I'm sure it's possible.

Motorway cruising is the way to do it. Any other driving kills economy in the 8

BMW 318ci petrol Cheltenham to Newcastle upon Tyne return trip on a single tank! Cruise control at steady 70mph 20 miles left in the tank looking at the range after filling up and trip meter.

I got 310 out of my pz on th run from stoke to Bristol airport and back, had keep a steady 70 all the way though

I had some range anxiety today in my bimmer

I managed to get 15 miles out my beamer when I had it that was once the petrol mileage hit zero then had a 2 mile walk to petrol station

Finally did it . The light wasn't even on yet I recon I was about 15-20 miles till the light came on but on the m25 the nxt services was 30 miles . Didn't want to risk it

You probably have at least 60 miles of motorway driving at 70mph left in there.

Didn't want to risk it . lol I normally struggle to get 200miles to the he light . Filled up with 51.5 litres

There you go, 10ltrs is another 50 miles but the stress of the last 25 miles is incredible.

plenty in there for a fair few miles, but having to put up with the stress is not so nice!

I would be wary about running the tank too low due to the strain it puts on the pump, I did some logging of fuel pump temperatures (put a sensor in the sender unit swirl pot) when trying to rule out my fuelling issues a couple of months back when the ambient temperatures where a lot lower and below a quarter of a tank the temperature climbed from 40 degrees to 75!
