I've effectively done it - refilling (no choice, was on the M25) when the light had just come on at 328, but that's the closest.

Re: 300 Mile Club (S1 RX8s) or 325 mile club for S2 RX8s
You're certainly close, but there is a chap who owns an S1 and has crept over 400 miles!
I've hit over 400 in my R3, but that has an extra 1 gallon in the tank.
Interestingly, since the rebuild (with mental porting etc.) I still managed to hit 165 out of half a tank, and that was cruising at about 80 on the motorway. I reckon, as it stands, I could clear 350 to a tank on a run, even running a full bridgeport with race extension...

A solid ignition system and cruise control. 60mph on a motorway without the AC on. Any RX8 will do it

And that is why cruise control helps. I use it more than I thought I would, purely because it prevents my speed from creeping up!

For 60mph, probably 6th unless you're facing some significant uphills, in which case 5th might be better for those bits.

6th all the way (in a stock RX8 anyway). You won't need to use 5th on any motorway in Britain, none of the hills are steep enough to trouble an 8 at 3,500 rpm.
Not going to lie, it's boring as sin warbling along at 60, but still. That's 6 hours and 40 minutes of driving, for reference.

So 155 from a full tank bad then? Maybe I should try the other 4, 5 and 6th gears...

Not "bad". Unless you're crusing in 6th at 60 and getting that... !

Re: 300 Mile Club (S1 RX8s) or 325 mile club for S2 RX8s
I do hope your not motorway cruising at 60mph to run the engine in. Worst thing in the world constant light load, you need A or B roads with regular gear changing and variable throttle loading on the engine to ensure correct bedding in.Dr. FrankenRex wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 4:31 pm6th all the way (in a stock RX8 anyway). Re: 300 Mile Club (S1 RX8s) or 325 mile club for S2 RX8s
275 miles is the best I got so far. I must admit that I did step on it quite a few times, as its so boring I could fall asleep. I'm not sure i'll pursue this anymore, as when I stopped the idle didn't sound very healthy. 2-3 redlines later everything got back to normal.

So, just a quick one - can anyone remember the name of the chap who did 400 miles on a tank in an S1?
I know I'm not the only 400 mile nutter on here, but can't for the life of me remember the other chap.

Or maybe I just forgot to reset the trip at the previous top-up

I never got over 250 until my rebuild, then I got 297 before I chickened out and filled up. But have not managed a good run of over 60 miles at a time yet.
