A friend of mine has just fulfilled a childhood ambition and bought himself a Bentley
It's a 2004 Bentley Continental GT with 42K on the clock and full Bentley service history, he has worked hard since he was 12, I am delighted for him, he is like a big kid at the moment.
6 litre W16 with 600 HP over the last 200 miles he has averaged 16 mpg and that's with him stretching its legs!
So he gets more mpg on average than me!!!!
16 years no claims gives him fully comp insurance premium of just £245

I regularly get 80 miles to the quarter of a tank in the 192 but I've just jumped in the PZ.

Here we go.

The orange light on for the first time. Needle with about 3 bars of the final quarter to go. I've no idea if empty means empty with this car but I drive 10 miles to a petrol station.

The PZ is in for MoT tomorrow and needs a blast. Plus Mrs Smutty has some deliveries that need doing so it's a good excuse to take it out.

Petrol station. 210 miles covered since fill up. 54 litres go in and the needle had about two little bars to go. According to Google it's a 61 litre tank so I still had 7 litres remaining.

Currently getting 4 miles to the litre which is 18mpg.

And there's no chance of joining the 300 club at this rate.

Motorway and 60mph will get you there and then some. I managed 29mpg on a motorway at 70 before now...

When I got 350 I was at 70 mostly on motorway, it was downhill from Scotland though.

Just got home. A fair bit of the A11 (been to Norfolk and made it home alive) and a fair bit of country lane action. 75 miles since fill up and just over three little bars of the first quarter used - bear in mind I brimmed it. So, it seems that I must have been using the loud pedal a fair bit on that previous tank of fuel.

As for 29mpg.....that simply ain't gonna happen!

I managed a 300 miles from one tank on a round trip from Coventry to Wells next the sea and back around June last year, non stop, although my bladder was filling up fast than the tank was emptying

Having to use my car for work as company car still off the road, today did 99.9 miles between filling up again and it took exactly 20 litres thats 22.8 mpg, happy days as a mix of duel carriageway and town driving I would have expected less.

I have just done 130 miles on half a tank in the PZ. Kind of creeping up towards the 300 club. On a different note, brand new brake discs feel good.

Just filled up with 40 litres after covering 180 miles which works out at 20.5mpg.

The scary thing was the price per litre - 138.9p

Okay, so it was Shell V-Power from motorway services, but still. £56 for 40 litres is painful. Luckily I had a £20 voucher which softened the blow.

It took 55 litres on fill up... but I mean, if you cross out the 1 and pretend it's a 2 it's a good number?

Long way to go hah to reach 325!

Good effort! You need yourself a bridgeport... My fuel light came on at 140 the other day and that wasn't track day driving or anything lol.

My 8 does about 8 mpg on track, though that includes the warm-up and cool-down laps, so probably nearer 6 on hot laps
Oil consumption goes up about the same proportion.

This is one of the reasons that the 8 got such a bad rep for oil consumptions, as Mazda launch events were at race tracks and the first "road tests" published also included a significant amount of track time.

It didn't help that the first batch of pre-production press cars had a software fault in the OMP mapping, which more than doubled oil consumption at some load/rev combinations.

When I used to take my '68 Alfa Romeo on track, or just floor it on a long motorway on-slip, you could watch the needle on the fuel gauge clock down like a reverse second hand. Find a long enough straight to accelerate and it would go down from half a tank to zero.

I used to tell passengers that it was the accelerator pumps in the dual twin-choke Weber carbs (that could do a good imitation of a kids super soaker) but it was just the shape of the tank and the position of the sender.

For some reason, by the time I got to full speed, they never noticed that the gauge was back to (nearly) where it started :D

Last time I was at silverstone I managed 4.8mpg average on track - so as near as dammit 1L per mile. Obviously that changes when you do cooldown laps, go get fuel on lunch and so forth.

Finally managed to join the 300 mile club! Took just under 53 litres to fill the tank.

170ish of the miles was done on a fairly steady motorway run. The other 130 was a mixture of A roads; with a few beeps along the way!

Went for a little blast yesterday; don't think I will be hitting 300 miles on this tank!! :)

200 mile round trip Sunday saw 313 easy. Wasn't even a little concerned about running out.
First 100 miles was mixed driving.

Getting to around 300 on most tanks if there's a decent length journey involved.

300 dead (and 12 liters left in the tank!) LOL. A mix of the steady trip and the odd 9k...suspect 350 should be easy if I try!
