Replaced the air filter that came on my AEM... I think it was a bit past it's best. 😂

Also filled the car ready for the trip down to Cornwall this weekend. Shall be a fun weekend full of James swearing I think. 😂

Got the new suspension in the boot. Stuff for cruise fitting. New engine mounts... Cat and decat as I need to get Christine's mot cat off... And I'm undecided on which way I want to go for currently.

And some 25mm spacers to try out as well.. May be a bit extreme but we shall see.

My experience with a racing beat intake(with scoop) is that the filter needs cleaning every 6 months or so, possibly because of the intake position or possibly because with the scoop it's basically a rotary vacuum cleaner

In the south of France with mine for a couple of weeks, annoyingly the starter has decided it's now on a part time contract so getting going is a bit hit and miss 🤦‍♂️

Fortunately the car park for the Airbnb is on enough of a slope to get enough momentum for a bump start 😂

I'll have to fit the one off my spare motor when I return home.

Otherwise it's performed flawlessly for the first 1200 miles or so, even the AC is doing an excellent job 👍

If you can get to it check the small spade connector is secure as this often comes loose causing intermittent starter motor operation

I don't know why this is becoming more common, but it's definitely a thing.

I've only got the scissor jack with me, but probably worth the attempt to check. I wondered if it was heat, as it had started to become hit and miss at services on the way down, but earlier this evening I went to start it for the first time today and it was click click straight away - bumped it and drove to where I needed to go, then when coming back it was click click oh right you want me to start the engine, here you go 😂

Went to RRP Ltd in Wantage for a full service today. What a top guy Scott is, certainly knows his stuff, learnt a lot from my visit there. Will definitely be back for all my future rotary needs and the plus is not too far from me and a great drive out, nice roads. You get a really cool looking stamped service book, nice touch! Smooth run back home.

How long ago did you book it? I'd take mine if the waiting list wasn't so big.

Got under the car this evening, fortunately the weather is a bit milder today. The spade connector was in place but easily pulled off - no squeezing required. The blade on the starter looked to be a bit dirty, on cleaning it I discovered it was Dinitrol (the whole starter has a coating of it 😕), so that's probably worked it's way in. The plastic connector on the female end was also caked in it, so I cleaned that up as it easily slipped off the spade connector itself, which was caked in what appeared to be grease, possibly dielectric grease to help prevent corrosion (not sure though, it was cream/yellow coloured like it had emulsified), but it seemed to be everywhere, so possibly not helping with conductivity. I cleaned it all up and re-fitted, making sure the copper/brass bits were snug at least. I haven't needed to use it today and didn't have time to take it for a long enough drive, so it'll probably be tomorrow that I next start it up. Hopefully cleaning it all up did the trick 🤞

I booked it about 2-3wks ago approximately, it was great that he fitted me in, he’s certainly got a lot on!
