I tried making the graph, i think i [urlw=http://graphsketch.com/parametric?mode= ... eqn3_x=exp(cos(3t))%2Bcos(t%2B(2*2*pi%2F3))&eqn3_y=exp(sin(3t))%2Bsin(t%2B(2*2*pi))&x_min=-7&x_max=7&y_min=-7&y_max=7&t_min=-7&t_max=7&x_tick=1&y_tick=1&x_label_freq=5&y_label_freq=5&do_grid=0&do_grid=1&bold_labeled_lines=0&bold_labeled_lines=1&line_width=4&image_w=850&image_h=525]failed[/urlw], anyone know its proper equation …

I think what I did is the motion of the rotor in the housings ...

@Phil Bate - Just because it says it's Rotary; like most "Rotary Mowers"... But I see no evidence of the true "Rotor Shape" ;)
@Metelyk - reminded me of the pictures I'd taken of the same thing; those folks that design playground equipment seem obsessed with Wankel rotors :D
@exiled--viking -The top one looks like an obvious Photochop? The toast is good though - I like the eccentric yolk :D

A few more from me...

Hopefully I haven't missed something similar earlier in the thread: A micro balance from the lab; rotor shaped weighing plate!

Some more rotary shaped objects from the lab.

Start with the boring rotary shaped plastic beaker...

Image

And then something more interesting; and certainly more expensive. This is the lower mounting plate of a HAAKE MARS rheometer which apparently cost well over a million squids.

Image

It appears the scientific community like making things rotary shaped, even if there appears to be absolutely no scientific benefit in doing so, which is quite ironic imo #-o
