You are right, it is 001. The kit was already fitted and the wheels were already black. Wraps are removable. I think it looks great.

You would think that , but unless someone really wants the 1st of a limited number, you wouldn't get much more than a normal RX8

when I sold mine I didn't get any extra than book price than a normal RX8, that was a dealer though

I don't expect to get more for it. I thought it was cool it was 001, it had been well looked after and has very low milage. I liked the Anniversary model as I think it looks great in White.

I agree that's why I brought mine, I think they missed a trick with the other 40th anniversary which I think was grey,it just didn't stand out like the white

Well - I really can't compete with some of the terrific cars here but it has occured to me that (as far as I'm aware) only 100 of the 40ths were manufactured in Chrystal White. Worst case scenario is that there are only 99 more impressive examples- aint so bad is it?

Did this work over Easter weekend. Poor photos taken indoors but it's rained every day since I finished so not had an oportunity to properly clean it and get some outdoor shots.

OEM Appearance package - less the boot spoiler. This got painted VR and a friend had it.
Painted calipers - Foliatec. Real pain and not massively impressed with the product - not enough pigment and slow to cure. Picked yellow to match shocks which of course you can't see - Oh! well.
Fitted pads - but neglected to reinstall shims - Thanks to the Spin Doctor for pointing out my error.
Installed pod and gauges - Had already sanded, filled, sanded, sanded, sanded and painted the pod.
Gave gearbox and dif a drink of Redline
Fitted the Toyo
Not visible but my greatest achievement - got rid of that damn dash rattle/squeak/click
Changed all interior bulbs (apart from vanity mirrors and GB), rear number plate, puddle, sides and boot to LED. Four different spec of bulbs.
Have since popped the caliper decals on.

No mate. Once I worked out the wiring - I came off the ignition so they don't power up if you just want radio etc and decided how to get the sensor wiring through the bulkhead it's a couple of hours tops.

These aren't expensive gauges. Same factory that makes the prosport brand. Just looked for something to match the stock meters and this is the closest I found.

The vent pods are great but you need to spend a little time finishing them to make them look factory quality.

Paul - Mazda said that the run was 400 cars uk registration. I think the guys we purchased from just gave an approximation of how many of the 400 they believed were ordered in White. I would guess the Grey was pretty popular at the time. As far as I'm aware there isn't 400 of each otherwise you'd have two No 1s, two No 2s etc up to the 400.

We may have been given wrong info but it doesn't really matter. I hadn't realised until we got the car that you can drive around for a couple of weeks without seeing another one. I thought there were more about but now I realise it's a bit of an illusion. I think it's because when you do see one you tend to really notice it as they're so distinctive.

This question come up before, I even raised it and the common answer was 400 of each

As for the amount seen I seen a lot more whites than Grey I only seen one grey and that was in the Dealers

Look at the sport black MX5, 500 models built, then you find out each colour (which there are 3 ) has a run of 500
