As I've owned my PZ for nearly a week, I thought I'd share some photos Image. Plus, on the way home, I dropped by Prodrive so that was the perfect photo opportunity Image. ImageImageImage

My sadly missed brother is at rest after his road traffic collision in Kenya. We had a lot in common so I visited where he now rests in Treorchy Cemetery Rhondda. Make every day count guys, 🇬🇧.

I'm not religious but I do believe in the afterlife.

We all live on in the memories of those we have touched in our lifetime.

Spent a while with some Meguiars stuff at the weekend trying to get the paint to feel smooth, then waxing it. Had enough after 3 hours, don't think I have a career in car detailing ahead of me!

Nice. I do like the galaxy grey.... sometimes I wish I'd got that one instead of the black.

Was the Meguiar stuff a clay bar ? Claying should get it nice and smooth before polishing and waxing. Although I am no expert. Mine only looks good as I got RRP to do a paint correction as well with the rebuild and it's looking like new !!

Done my 1000 miles, changed the oil and now 100 more, so have touch 5K for the first time in ages. So at second base and should be at the fourth base redline in 500 more miles.... :D

No, some ultimate compound stuff I had from strangely enough polishing clear coat when I've been painting guitars. Didn't go mad with it and seemed to have the desired effect on most of the paint work. It's by no means in perfect condition, the bonnet I'm not sure what's going on with will have to take a more careful look another day.

Can't wait till I can start revving it a bit, have to carefully plan overtakes at the moment and watch what I'm doing!

I think if it's the Meguiars Ultimate Compound you'll be taking off some of the lacquer anyway, so clay is a bit redundant in that case I guess !!

Yes, the 4K limit makes you a sitting duck to the VAG 2.0TDI crowd. You have to let them overtake and just console yourself by saying... you may have won this battle but I will win the war.

Might not have been the best choice but I've never really cleaned a car past using Turtlewax 'wash n' wax' - I know its a bit abrasive so tried to be gentle with it at least! :-k

It did get rained on later and beaded very nicely so the wax layer appears to have gone on correctly anyway.

Once upon a time ( before kids ) I used to do a clay, polish with meguiars scratch-x then finish off with autoglym ultra deep shine. Took around 8 hours but looked lovely after.

Now lucky to wash it with 2 young kiddies. I use supagard aqua free on my car now when I can and it comes out pretty good in just under an hour. It gets waxed as well in one go, and if the car is not crazy dirty then it comes out pretty well ( see above ).

In winter I wash it more to get under the arches, get salt off etc but this aqua free stuff works for the other 3 seasons.
