GSB, I agree we need more input from members, the LE-JOG thread for example, is one i suspect will not get any further due to lack of member input. it had a very small response.

hope im wrong :) im happy to do what i can for the club myself of course.

dan, good luck with your new family member :) and dont be a stranger, old boy !

Yeah it definitely is the card but the 5820k is old as well and can be seen to struggle some times. One of the reasons I stopped streaming as CBA with dedicated card or another streaming rig on top. Probably going to skip the 1080ti and wait it out as I like the ray tracing full support with RTX
I normally skip a gen too to get better value/results but I did go from a 980ti to a 1080ti because it had so much more VRAM that I actually needed.

That's because people like me were happy to pay full whack for the 2080 Ti. Sorry not sorry. Some people spend on their car, I pimp out my case!

4K 60FPS minimum with my 64gb of overclocked RAM and water-cooled rig. Maxed out settings in-game make me happy. I love tweaking my fan controller profiles and my RGB lighting is epic. My monitor is backlit to a specific colour temperature too.

Worst of the PC Master Race right here \:D/

Thread topic successfully pwned.

Why 64GB of RAM? Do you do use your computer for work? I have 16GB OC'ed and rarely see it go over 8GB but I only use my rig for gaming or non-demanding work applications.

Unless you're running demanding apps that require that much or virtual machines, it's pointless. I have 32GB in one of laptops but I also got that in a good deal otherwise I'd never go above 16GB for my needs.

At work I think our high frequency trading servers are outclassed by some of the rigs you guys have. Wowser.

I think Nvidia actually outlawed use of the gaming gpus in data centres but a 2080ti is a beast. Comparable to top spec gpus used for deep learning and AI.

It's always games that stretch computers, for most other applications the processor in your smartphone is probably more than powerful enough. I always laugh seeing someone with a top spec MacBook pro in a coffee shop just writing email and browsing....

Anyway, after many years lurking and in my 12th year of ownership you guys got me to sign up with the PZ suspension group buy. Dunno why i didn't join earlier tbh. Knowledge is great and I hope to come out to some meets and track days at some point for sure...
