Hi guys.
Can anyone give me some idea on the best way to go about fixing this ding in my front aero lip please. The lip will be coming off soon as I have managed to find a replacement bumper as that crack above the grille has annoyed me since I got the car.
Thanks in advance!

Using the same screws that you removed to take it off the old bumper,

I think the only way you would repair that is by filling and sanding - presumably it has splayed out above and below the dent?
I have a similar dink in my front bumper just above the v-crest. I thought about using heat to try and tease it back in to shape, then considered using filler but ultimately just put it down to patina and left it

Re: What's the best way to fix an aero kit lip?
No probs, I should have realised that anyway. As Phil posted filler and repaint on the Aero and your option for the bumper repair is to pick up a used bumper complete and just swap it over. I have done this twice on my VR bumper for about £50 a time. Lots of greys out there so you should be able to source one easily.EarlGrey wrote:Sorry Chris, I meant how do I fix the dent in it

Re: What's the best way to fix a dent in an aero kit lip?
I've managed to source a mint bumper (plus a load of spare bits) for a very reasonable sum that's being delivered tonight.
The aero lip could do with a respray but only really the bit under the main bumper so I was thinking about doing a proper repair on it.
I didn't use the main fixing screws when I fitted it a few months ago but will most likely fit it properly with the (near mint) bumper when I get it. I just know that if I don't fix that dent then my eye will always be drawn to it.
What would be the best way to fill that little dent chaps? Otherwise I might have to learn to live with it.

Re: What's the best way to fix a dent in an aero kit lip?
That's great news, fingers crossed for a close colour match. Regarding the dent just rough it up and fill with filler and sand back using a wide backing board to bridge the damage and maintain the contour. Then spray the whole aero lip with a high build primer off you go.

Re: What's the best way to fix a dent in an aero kit lip?
Filling the recess on the underside will be easy enough. But I'm not sure how well you will be able to flatten the raised bit on the top side. If the lip is solid, and the lip is OE (therefore ABS, not GRP), then you may be able to block sand it to the right profile. But I think that's your main challenge......
