Rattling in the doors

Post by lead_foot »

Right tried my best too find a sensible place to post this so here it is. I had a really annoying rattle in the drivers side door trim whenever any amount of bass was put through that speaker. So after cleaning the interior yesterday afternoon i decided to remove the door trim to see if i could spot anything obvious. Upon removal it was clear to see what the annoying rattle was. Two nuts had come off and were in the bottom of the trim. There were put back on the empty bolts and as if by magic no more rattle.

Just wondered if anyone else had or has this problem?

Had a tiny rattle but i think it was more the top of the door or the seals rubbing or squeaking might have a look into this

Slightly relevant, but I've had a couple of old Mazda 323fs that suffered from rattle-itis.

If it's not evident where the rattle is coming from, or an immediate fix, I used to simply tape thick, cheap sponges to the insides of the door-cards. Nice, cheap fix!

Had an annoying rattle for months on the OS door pillar. Drove me absolutely mad. Eventually found 2 of the 4 bolts holding the suicide door top jaw were loose. (not sure if everyone else calls it a jaw, but its late and i cant think what else to call it!)

According to madder my car sounds like!r its falling to bits inside. (We were having thisntalj last night) and I said it was after removing the door cards. So yeah seems to be an issue. I can't hear them over my car now though so never bothered to investigate :D

I don't have many, if any, major rattles in the R3. Did in my old Nemesis. I just took the door cards off and stuck firm, cheap sponges in there. Did the trick.
