After dropping Chris off at Castle Combe at about 10am with his car and exhaust and to wait for recovery (I hope that went well Chris ) I took a very much cross country route home thanks to my satnav (it didn't exactly take me the way I'd planned as kindly worked out by Chris before I left him at the circuit) in my effort to avoid the M4 and missing the diversion signs again.
I got home about 10.30pm ... but this time not because I got lost. I was driving through Ewell thinking what I needed to do when I got home when I remembered (as I passed the end of her road) that I'd been invited to a friend's birthday celebration which was starting at 2pm. It was 2.15pm so as I was in the wrong lane to turn off I went all way round the roundabout and stopped off for drinks and food and even more socialising.
So there we were at Combe about to say our farewells when Brian said “exhaust” as the RB mid pipe from Nicklaus for me was still in his car!
Being sat at Castle Combe on a sunny Sunday would have been better if something had actually been going on!

Just to update those of you who have spoken to me regarding my engine and its misfire - I did a compression test and all faces are even. I didn't have time to fault find this evening, but it looks to be spark plug, coil or lead related - so I am a very happy and relieved RX8 owner right now

Not sure tbh Chris. I ran the test 3 times today and the results were consistent, so purely an anomalous result yesterday :-(

Just comp tested the replacement engine I’ve just fitted and it’s not as good as advertised .
Told it was low 5’s but sadly not which would probably be the reason for the delaayyyyyed starting issue.
