Your committee recently discussed the options for the 2021 AGM + Annual Meet.

In past years these events have been held together, over a weekend in around March. However, the uncertainties resulting from ever changing covid-19 restrictions make it incredibly difficult to plan such an event, and we also felt many members might find it difficult to commit to such an event for the same reason.

We have therefore decided to separate the AGM from the Annual Meet, for 2021.
This was already under consideration here (visible to members only).
  1. We plan to hold the AGM on Sunday 21 March 2021 using the Zoom* videoconferencing system.
  2. We have postponed the Annual meet until September 2021.
It's worth adding that the committee typically "meets" about 4 times a year. Pre 2020, these meetings had been held in a hotel, roughly central to where committee members live, but this has been both expensive and time consuming, taking a full day for all involved.

The now widespread popularity of easy to use, reliable online meeting tools has meant the last two meeting have been held via Zoom. We have deemed the meetings to have been very successful and so plan to continue to hold most future committee meetings online.

We invited members to join us for an open Zoom session at the September meeting and, although only two members took up the offer, we will continue to extend such invites in the future, so any member has the opportunity to discuss club related issues with the full committee on a roughly quarterly basis.

Finally, we'll provide an update on the plans for the September 2021 Annual Meet in good time, but can assure that we had/have pursued activity options for both before, and after the postponement.
