2020 Annual Meet/AGM Weekend - Three Sisters Circuit - Saturday 29th February and Sunday 1st March

Good Evening everyone. I have pleasure, on behalf of your committee, in announcing the location and further details of next year's Annual Meet/AGM Weekend :thumleft:
8200_ho_00_p_2048x1536.jpg

In keeping with the 2019 AGM decision to hold the 2020 Annual Meet/AGM in the North we have booked the Mercure Wigan Oak Hotel as the base for the weekend. Additionally, we have secured the Three Sisters Circuit in Greater Manchester on Saturday 29th February 2020 for EXCLUSIVE use by club members!

Address
Mercure Wigan Oak Hotel
Orchard Street
Greater Manchester
Wigan
WN1 3SS

The room prices are £60.00 for one person or £68.00 for two people which includes breakfast.
We have block booked rooms at this discounted rate for Friday 28th February and Saturday 29th February. Additionally, some members have requested to stay on Sunday 1st March and the hotel have confirmed they can extend bookings to the Sunday night at the following rate One Person £55.00 and for Two People £63.00 which includes breakfast.

Members who attend the AGM on Sunday and choose to stay at the Mercure on Saturday night will be entitled to a rebate of £20 towards the cost of their accommodation, payable after the event.

The Annual Club Dinner on Saturday evening will be a set menu, price £10.00 for members and £18.50 for non-members.

Room bookings for Friday/Saturday/Sunday and places for Dinner MUST be booked and paid for via the Club Shop. We will advise as soon as these items are available to purchase.

Here is an outline of the weekends activities:

As always, members are welcome to partake in some, or all, of the activities planned for the weekend. If you live locally, you may not wish to stay at the hotel. We would encourage all members and partner members to attend the AGM on Sunday in order for you to participate in the running of your club.

Friday Evening
We have nothing planned as a Club, however committee members will be around during the evening and you are most welcome to join us for food in the restaurant and bar area.

Saturday Daytime
6am-7am, breakfast will be available at the hotel.
7.15am sharp, convoy will leave the hotel for those going to the Three Sisters Circuit.

We plan to erect the club gazebo to provide storage for items emptied from your car and to provide some shelter in the Paddock area.
There is a cafe at the circuit which will be open throughout the day for hot drinks and food.

Provisional Schedule
Gates Open : 7.15am
Signing On : 8.00am
Saftey Briefing : 8.30am (compulsory for all drivers)
Sighting Laps : 9.00am
Novice Time : 9.20am
Track Time commences** : 9.45am
Lunch Break : 12.00pm
Novice Time : 1.00pm
Track Time commences** : 1.25pm
Track Closes : 4.00pm (depending on light)

**Run in an OPL format. A maximum of 10 cars are permitted on the track at any one time, so it may be necessary to impose a restriction on how long you stay out on track to be fair to all participants.

Further details of the day can be found later in this post.

Saturday Evening
7pm onward. Before your Private Club Dinner we invite everyone to mingle in the bar where you can use a voucher supplied by your Club to get a drink free of charge =D>
~7.25pm you will be requested to take your seat in the Cumberland Suite, where your 3 course meal (plus coffee and mints) will be served for you to enjoy in the company of your fellow members. This will be followed by the usual awards, speeches and a raffle with some really fantastic prizes donated by the Club and Traders.
We have the use of the private room available until midnight, so everyone is welcome to carry on chatting and drinking until we are turfed out by the staff

Based on the Poll results we will be running an Open Pit Lane (OPL) trackday at the Three Sisters Circuit. This means that, subject to the car number track limit, you can go out onto the circuit as you please throughout the day. The price for members (or partner members), per car with one driver, will be £120.00. If there is not a full take up of the available places by members then places will be offered to invited guests at £150.00.

Additionally, we will be offering one, or subject to the level of demand, maybe two, 20min Novice Track Sessions. The first novice session will take place at the start of the day, immediately after the Sighting Laps. If there is enough interest, we will run a second novice session straight after the lunch interval. These sessions are structured to encourage members (and/or partner members) who have never been on track before, to find out what track driving feels like. We will restrict each of these sessions to a maximum of 6 cars on the track, price £25.00 for each session. Members or Partner members can choose to purchase either, or both, sessions. Experienced track drivers will be available to passenger with drivers in the novice sessions on request.

Optional items:

Additional Driver Wrist Band – £20
Passenger Wrist Band – £10

Track places, novice sessions and additional driver/passenger wristbands will be available to purchase through the Club Shop from ? on TBA (subject to confirmation by the Club Shopkeeper)

Note that there will be a strictly limited number of track places available. Please book your place(s) as soon as they are available in the shop to avoid disappointment!

Anyone willing to take me as a passenger for a few laps? :) Would be my first time on a track! Presume I'd also need a helmet.

There'll be plenty of passenger rides available. Welcome to sit in mine though it almost certainly won't be the fastest ride.

Yes, you'll need a helmet.

You could borrow one or I'd recommend buying from here, for great value for money.
https://www.ghostbikes.com/helmets-open ... sortby=PLH

Note that these are not "automotive motorsport approved" but, IMO, they should be more than capable inside a closed car, and are perfectly acceptable for trackday use at any circuit.

Yeah I got an AGRIUS one they sell for under £30 comes with its own lightweight bag to keep it in and does the job just fine.

Awesome! I don't mind how fast I go, Im sure a first time on track in any car will be an experience. :) Ill take a look Dave cheers. Had a browse for trackday helmets yesterday and there was a Spareco Club X1 I think for £70. Was everything except fireproof. But for £30 for a passenger ride and obviously not going to compete I won't mind that. Only issue is getting to test fit...

Track and both novice sessions please

Chris Holmes will you come passenger on 1st novice session ?
Privileged to be asked Carl but not sure if I will be able to as I may be occupied with organisational activities at the time. I am sure we will be able to find an equally suitable passenger to accompany you if I cannot join you.
I am currently not actually planning to drive on the day for the reason above.

I bought mine from Demon Tweeks https://www.demon-tweeks.com/uk/search/ ... open_face/

Anyone willing to take me as a passenger for a few laps? :) Would be my first time on a track! Presume I'd also need a helmet.

Once i get the hang of it your welcome in the MPS

That's an offer you should definitely take up. If you have been following the MPS build thread you'll know why...

It will be the Perimeter Circuit as per picture on the very first post of this topic Chris :thumleft:
