Dan's daily Alfa MiTo Veloce
Now I've got the PZ on the forum I guess I can get the fairly new to me daily
Obviously it had to be something a bit different it's the 135 MultiAir, a fairly decent spec having stuff like the tan seats and auto climate. I'll have to get some more info on here soon but for now here's a picture of it with Charlotte's R52 S
Update - completed so far:
- Greased the window rubbers (still very noisy AF when it's hot so any suggestions are welcome - I think the next plan is to try and clean all of the contact points.
- Updated the blue and me (not the greatest system in the world and isn't a fan of taking any CD's most of the time)
- OEM red text MiTo mats fitted
- Missing parcel shelf replaced
- Glovebox rattle fixed (latch adjusted and now OK) - classic Alfa
- Steering wheel buttons fixed (contact cleaner)
- Glued the loose grille strake back in place
- Undertray fixings replaced (loads missing and it was pretty much on the floor)
- Grille and tailgate badges replaced for the facelift MiTo ones
- Oil separator leak fixed (O-ring replaced)
- 'Alfa Romeo' puddle lights fitted
- Full service completed - Oil, oil filter, MultiAir filter, cabin filter, spark plugs, aux belt, timing belt, water pump and coolant
- K&N induction kit fitted
- Osram 'cool blue' headlight bulbs fitted along with xenon DRL's for a bit more of a modern look
- Trim restorer used on the number plate plinth
- Chrome wheel nut covers fitted
- Headlights restored
- Pumped up the space saver (wouldn't be much good at 15 psi lol)
Current to do:
- Sort the wastegate rattle (pre-load needs adjusting)
- Sort blower motor issue (blower stops at 100% load and cuts out when going over bumps)
- Paint touch ups (and sort some of the dodgy old ones out)
- Fit the blue and me Bluetooth adapter to allow music to be played via Bluetooth
- Restoration/clean of the front seats (bolster wear)
- Restore/replace the window switches
- Replace the OS taillight - (dead LEDs)
- Polish the exhaust
- Alarm unavailable message - multiecuscan pointing towards a siren failure
- Metal pedal covers and footrest to be found (the search continues)
- Lacquer peel to sort on the rear spoiler - ordered a good second hand one but I've been ghosted
- Squeaky steering (guessing this is a dry joint somewhere)
- New tyres fitted (never experienced anything quite as bad as 'Boto Vantage H-8's' - Pirelli P-Zeros on order - good price from my local Pirelli performance centre + £70 fuel card from the AROC)
- Tuning (handling/engine - to be thought about once I have some half decent tyres on the car).

Re: Dan's daily Alfa MiTo Veloce
Nice one. Now the Mito is actually one of the few Alfas I've not driven or owned actually. So will be interesting to follow this thread.

Re: Dan's daily Alfa MiTo Veloce
Like my RX-8 I've not been able to spend much time on my MiTo recently - but managed to get some OEM metal pedal covers + footrest fitted this afternoon which makes a nice addition imo.

Re: Dan's daily Alfa MiTo Veloce
I need to give this a good update as I've done a few bits over the last few months but Charlotte has outdone me as of Sunday by getting a Cloverleaf!

Re: Dan's daily Alfa MiTo Veloce
First meet in the MiTo at Car Natter Whilton Mill tomorrow! Going to have to take it to a scratch and shine in the morning. A few more bits that have happened to it since my last post the Bluespark has been a good improvement power wise.

Re: Dan's daily Alfa MiTo Veloce
Okay, so I had to Google that
https://bluesparkautomotive.com/alfa-ro ... 5ps-petrol
looks like a neat solution, and very impressive, if those figures are to be believed.
In the real world it's not really the numbers that matter, as much as the improvement in driveability, which looks like they've got the priorities right

Like you say - more than anything the benefits in overall drivability probably improve it more than peak power.
