Re: My Other car - pics.
A pic of my daily dog. Volvo t5, shifts for a big car.
My current track toy. That will be going into semi retirement once I get started on the RX8
What's holding me up from starting the RX8. Just finishing of a mk2 fiesta turbo convertion for a mate. Again a track car.
Cheers John

Re: My Other car - pics.
It occurs to me that despite many people knowing what my other car is, nobody has actually seen it just yet. Since I got it valeted yesterday, here's a nice shiny pic of our mile-munching IS250. Pity the weather was overcast, it looks so much better when the sun's out!
To Do List: HKS CAMP2 install; cruise control; new exhaust; detail paintwork, possible respray
Done: Hayward Rotary rebuild and stage 2 port; Racing Beat ARBs, adjustable front droplinks, ram air intake and lightened flywheel; Exedy stage 1 clutch; Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs; Koyo radiator; heated front screen; EBC redstuff pads all round

Re: My Other car - pics.
I'm going to join in even though I don't have an 8 anymore, only because that's a temporary situation! I'll be on the lookout for another 8 (in red of course) as a second car which will be much more practical than my previous failed attempt to afford an 8 as a daily driver in my situation...
Here's my new steed. It's coincidentally exactly the same on paper BHP figure as the 8. 231... Although way more torque from the big 3.0L V6.
Unfortunately the handling can't come close to that of the 8, which I'm really yearning for!

Re: My Other car - pics.
Very nice Mike, I almost bought a 10 plate C350 3.0 V6 (very rare the Dealer told me when I spoke to him in person). But there were a few anomalies the Dealer couldn't (or wouldn't) justify. 1 was 2 separate prices (£1500 difference from website price to forecourt price). Also on the website the car had the V6 engine cover but it was missing from the car on the Forecourt.
When confronted over the phone, the guy said he had 2 C350's for sale. Both just happened to be White with the same mileage, both 10 plates and ended in the same 2 letters ( that's all that was shown on the website). I think not.
I was a bit gutted as it was a very nice car, however it would have meant having to let the RX8 go as well as part of the deal.
Anyway here's my current slog (not for long though)
Started to see a lot more on the road more recently.
Joined the forums (which is total s**t by the way). No help at all
MPG is appalling for a 1.6 HDI Eco engine (42 - 46) compared to the published figures of 65+
Car is fully loaded with so many buttons and gadgets but it's not a nice drive over distance.

Re: My Other car - pics.
My daily/JDM project
It's a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant V6 24v one owner from new. Full service history with 64000 on the clock.
I have so far fitted the VR4 body kit, Momo 17" wheels and the Lanca rear wing that so happened to be in the same colour red.
Jobs to do are fit the HKS Super Hi Power backbox some wheel arch flares (in black). Paint the upper half of the rear bumper red and lower it a little.
Add some upgraded discs and pads next year.
The car has 162bhp its not as powerful as the all singing and dancing VR-4 (280+) but its enough for a daily.
So far is stands me at £1200 this includes buying the car. I am trying to capture the JDM look without spending loads of money. The kit was £90 wheels £100 and the spoiler £40. It needed a fuel filler neck and a front pipe but thats it.

Re: My Other car - pics.
Well, it was 39.99 + 10 postage.
But yes, it was too cheap to pass up.......I love ebay.
When searching for Galant spoilers even rubbish new ones where 70 quid. So I searched for Lanca spoilers and found this one badly fitted to a 2000 car. It was not on an Evo it was on a copy cat car.
Even the wheels 100 quid 30 shipping with tires 90 watches and it was a buy it now.

Re: My Other car - pics.
I collected this on the 5th December in the UK, brought it home, then went straight back to RRevs and collected the 8. For the few days I've been back here it's not stopped raining, so the photos were taken whilst sheltering under an umbrella! It's a Saab 9-5 Aero Estate:
Other than the exhaust it looks standard, but looks can be deceiving. It's an ex Abbott Racing company car, and has one or two tweeks done by Abbott:
Rebuilt engine using Wossner forged pistons, together with a new cylinder head
New turbo
New clutch & light weight billet fly wheel
Quaife lsd
AP Racing 4 pot front brake system
All new suspension bushes front & rear, with poly sub frame bushes.
Race Stage remap to 306bhp
Full 3" downpipe & stainless steel exhaust system, with cat.
Rebuilt gearbox.
I have the original invoices from Abbott for all the work, totaling over £11,000, together with an authenticating letter!
As it looks standard it's a bit of a "Q" car, so it does take the local Alain Prost wannabe's in their Diseasal Citroens by surprise, so Madame refers to it as Danger Mouse. (I reckon it's more of a "Widow Maker")
The steering is a little light compared to the 8, and with FWD, loads of power, plus just a little turbo lag, it makes a different driving experience to the 8, but it handles really well, and it's FAST. It also can hold 2 Border Collies, along with a week's load of supermarket shopping, and still have the back seats free!
I'm a seriously happy chappie, with two superb, if a little fragile, black beauties outside demanding to be driven!

It is not too bad - has adjustable dampers on it so you can wind the damping right down to make it far more pleasant. Only gripe is that it is a bit loud on the motorway due to wind noise so you end up shouting at your passenger all the time - keeps the Mrs quiet though

Re: My Other car - pics.
Took my Jazz in for a service last week and got chatting to a salesman. There were some stonking deals on offer, especially with a new model Jazz due out later this year, so couldn't refuse his offer of a new car, a cheque for £3,400 (taking out PCP for first time, loads of equity in old car), plus loads of extras thrown in (5 year service plan!). New jazz has cruise control, handy with loads of A12 roadworks, 40 and 50 mph limits for miles.
It's not as fun to drive as the RX-8, but the mpg and loadspace (for a small car) are great
Picked her up today, in Milano Red

Glad you like it guys Loving the colour myself too, and the Si model has some nice little design touches, the shaped leather steering wheel is a great improvement on the standard one too.
"MUC" on the reg plate gave me a laugh, but as my initials are "MC" it works for me Just need to change my middle name to "Ulf" and it's a personal plate
