It's times like these you need a taser to deliver instant karma :shaking:

On the bright side nobody got hurt,it'll get fixed & somebody else is paying :money:

It won't be long before you're posting pics of the car fully repaired & gleaming again :thumleft:

I think the wheel was damaged Nigel. I can see it on the photo, best get them to quote for a refurb. All four, why should you have to have a slightly different colour wheel because of her actions

Adam, probably worth getting the tyre checked too.? Possible non visable sidewall damage? What you think?

Especially since Nigel does high speed track days?

Yes am sure that might be the case and then she will have some explaining to do, as medically she isn't fit to drive at the moment following her recent Stroke :!: :!:

Members who aren't aware of this, the main reason why she won't want to go through the Insurance is because the cost of insuring a car when you are over 75 or even 80 is horrendous, and I am speaking from experience regarding my 89 year old Dad

GSB III 03/08/13 - Present

Post by GreySilver Beast » Sat Feb 08, 2020 10:28 pm

If it's a New Bumper, then I also have Parking Sensors fitted which won't be cheap to replace, also need a New Arch Liner too, plus a New Wing if they can't knock the dent out and then painting in GT Grey :!:

Bill could be in the Region of £1,000 to £2,000

GSB III 03/08/13 - Present

Post by GreySilver Beast » Sun Feb 09, 2020 11:30 am

According to some GT86 owners this is what maybe required :

New Bumper
New Front Parking Sensors
New Driver Arch Liner
New Drivers Wing
New Crash Bars
Plus GT Grey Paint

She missed the side indicator and doesn't look damaged. They not cheap to replace either :!: :!:

So the whole bill could be close to £2,000 Image

May still have to go through Insurance........

Just imagine if this was an RX-8 as it would be declared a Write Off :(

Mind you if it costs more than 2k to repair my car, it too could be declared a Write Off :o

Hang on a second, no one has even mentioned that she's an elderly lady and this could have done serious damage to her health or even worse.

Are people serious on here telling Nigel to all but take her to the cleaners and pay for this, that and everything? Nigel there's nothing seriously wrong with your car, small money to get it fixed, really small, cut this lady some slack and don't try and fleece her.

Your car will be fixed up just fine, you'll have no luck going after her for anything more than what it costs to fix what is entirely cosmetic. Can't believe some people on here telling him to go and basically do her financially.

Fix what is broken, no more no less. You don't know her circumstances, she may not have a pot to p!ss in. If it was me personally I'd care less about my car and more about that lady and how she is...

I don't think anyone is suggesting that Nigel scam her. Some people were jesting.

But Nigel has a lot of special ordered, precision calibrated and custom parts that have been damaged/or are on panels that are damaged... and they should all be checked and set right to the standard they were before. So no more, no less I guess.

Her being old isn't an excuse. All drivers have equal responsibility and Nigel would be just as liable if he'd hit her car. Over 70s are also the wealthiest age group by far (don't get me started on that), so we don't have to tip toe around that... especially if she has the money to shop at main dealerships. I certainly can't afford that luxury.
