Three months since my last post and I have missed the car constantly and finally couldn’t stand seeing it still listed for sale any longer so I called the trader and after a friendly chat about the state of car sales since October and how his cash flow situation must be scary a deal was struck which was an incredible result for me and a really nice gesture by him putting my love for the car above his profit.
Woohoo!

I hope you're not going to have to take the TV and surround sound back, though....

No, but the Nemesis will be going which I do really like as it’s so pleasant to drive compared to RR54.

I assume being a trader, the last name on the V5 is still you, so no increase in the number of previous owners.

Years ago we moved house and I sent the V5's off for change of address.

One of them (my old Alfa) came back with the previous owner as me, at our old address, and the number of previous owners increased from one to two.

It took a lot of arguing with the DVLA, including faxing them a photocopy I'd taken of the completed V5 that I sent them to show that I had correctly put in "change of address" and not "change of owner".

Eventually they admitted to "a clerical error" and sent a replacement V5 with the correct ownership history, only then it didn't show that it was previously registered in Switzerland, and the number of seats had increased from 4 to 5, despite the rear seats being buckets not a bench...

Car went into limp mode on Wednesday ENGINE POWER LIMITED DUE TO FAULT. YOU MAY CONTINUE YOUR JOURNEY
DCT doesn't like limp mode with only 2000rpm and no throttle response to react to so driving was fun. Exiting junctions at a snails pace was interesting!
Took the car into BMW for a diagnostic check £ 138 thankyou! A faulty brake vacuum valve was diagnosed at £453 to supply and fit! The valve was £167 so I said I will buy that and fit it myself which I did day in about 90 minutes. Now I know how not to remove the sensor and its integral pipe which is fitted to the brake servo under the master cylinder I reckon its and hour at most to do the job. I think the BMW official process is to remove the master cylinder which would necessitate bleeding the brakes. All i did was remove the two mounting stud nuts which gave about a cm or so of movement and with some firm pressure and a bit of leverage with a large screwdriver the old valve and pipe was extricated and the replacement fitted.
Started the car and the same error message appeared!!! Hmm! switched off and then restarted which cleared the message, I guessed it was caused as there was no vacuum initially as I had released it disconnecting the valve. A 20 minute test drive and all was well so that was me a happy bunny.
Have a look at my RR54 topic for the story of no success today!!!

Just went for few days in the Lake District and the car was ideal cruising smoothlessly on the motorway and great fun on the twisties.
Gave it a coffee break by Ullswater.
MPG was good for a 4ltrs V8!

Front tyres outer shoulder MOT advisories described as over zealous by my local tyre supplier today when I called in for a quote and tracking check and then when I mentioned Oulton Park next week he said “See you the week after then, maybe for a full set of four.
Michelin Pilot Sports are a mouth watering £398 fitted and that’s the only choice in my mind as they match the rears.
