Hello there,
My name is Adrian, 23, I'm from France.
Currently I have :
200sx S14
Focus MK1 1.6 100hp
MX5 MK2.5 VVT
Rx-8 192hp
I've got my RX8 since 2 years now.
I've always been passionate by "original" engine. I started with moped, 2 stroke, karting...
I've bought this RX8 with 110.xxxkm, no mot, no paper, for 1000£. She was stock.
Mods added :
Toyosport Cat-back
RB dual resonator decat
Tein Monosport Coilovers
Sohn kit
Eflexuel kit (I run 100% e85)
Drift shop steering wheel with boss hub
KN filter
JR3 wheels : 18x10.5 rear 18x8.5 front (don't reminder the offset)
I use it on weekend and trackday (atm 100% drift).
Comp : front : 6.6 6.5 6.6 rear : 6.2 6.4 6.1
No hot or cold start problem
With a friend we are currently rebuilding his RX8 since a water seal blow up.. New housings, refurbished plates...
In the future I would like to try to fit a turbo. Lot of possibilities... RRP kit seems coming soon, Brett manifold too, or a greddy kit if I found one ?
Have a good day and sorry for my English haha !
PS : I will try to post a picture soon !

Re: Catz RX8 [week-end | drift]
Thanks Matt.
In France we probably have 40 to 60 RX8 running this kit.
The kit is installed between the ECU and injectors.
It have a ethanol sensor, with this sensor we can have % of ethanol on the tank.
We also have a temperature sensor, for the cold start.
With the ethanol sensor you can switch from Sp98 to E85 (85% of ethanol) with no problem.
It's a little bit hard to explain haha, you can check their website for more infos.
No Dyno, because this kit doesn't add power.

Re: Catz RX8 [week-end | drift]
E85 = 0,46£/L
SP98 = 1,40£/L
That's why..

Re: Catz RX8 [week-end | drift]
typically E85 conversions should add some power but you have to increase the ignition timing to take best advantage of it and there's usually benefits with a cooler combustion temp due to evaporationCatz wrote: ↑Tue Jun 29, 2021 8:46 pm

also the required fuel AFR for E85 is a fair bit richer than for petrol as stoich is 9.8:1 compared to 14.7:1
so you end up using a 1/3rd more fuel
still a fuel cost saving overall though

Normal driving I normally do 350km
Trackday 200km
E85 seems to make engine internal component cleaner too
Do you have e85 in UK ?

Re: Catz RX8 [week-end | drift]
its not readily available , you can get it but unless there's a station local to you its probably not worth the bother
that and the quality issues you get with E85 where it might be 85% one day but only 75% the next
I don't know of many people whom use it over here outside of racing
