Hi Guys,
Not an owner yet, but I really fancy a RX-8.
I had a Mazda 3 MPS Gen 1 for 4 years, but that went up in flames, so I'm looking for something spicy to replace it.
I grew up riding 2 stroke road bikes in the 90s (YPVS, RGV250, RG500) and loved the sound of them; and the Wankel on full chat sounds just as delicious.
I was wanting a Series 2, but they are so much more expensive, so I'm looking for S1.
Cheers
Ali

alasdairm!
Shame to hear about your Mazda 3 - but anything to do with an RX-8 and you're in the right place be sure to look at the buyers guide and the wealth of information here on the forum, and if you chose to become a paid member, there are all the technical documents, discounts, group events and a buy/sell section for parts between members available and more! I'm sure other members will be here before long on the welcome party, but you'll find plenty of debates about which version or any information you could want . Me personally i'm a bit biased to the S2 (R3), and firstly I thought I was going for a standard S1 and suddenly talked myself into the R3 heh!
Must say though - I 100% agree about the sound of the rotary at full beans... Ain't nothing beating it for me

Hi and alisdairm Have you seen the Buyers Guide? viewtopic.php?f=25&t=24047
Shame the one in Ripley is a bit too far for you. I don't know the car myself, but it looks like a well cared for example.

Re: Greetings from Inverness
Welcome.
I used to live relatively near Inverness, have had motorbikes most of my adult life and specialised in 2-strokes (RD250, RD350YPVS, RGV250 original, RGV250 facelift, RD500). I put my then-bike in storage and bought a car when I moved to Scotland as I couldn’t stand the cold, weak sassenach that I was
