What's your budget? Someone has just posted a nice low mileage 40th Anniversary in the Facebook RX8 classifieds group.

Thanks NF10, £6k is to much for me. There is a 40th Annie on ebay for just over £4k, but its in Wakefield which is 7 hour drive from me.

Cheers Chris, but I'm really after a 40th AE.

Is there a list of all the special edition models in here. I did have a look, but couldn't see anything. Or are all the changes just cosmetic (wheels, colours, rear spoiler, interior)

Thanks Alistair, the 40th is probably the most desirable S1 limited edition and I wish you well with your search.

Got to say, especially if you're limiting yourself to a 40th, especially if for a specific colour of 40, you will have to travel to find a good example. Similar to me with wanting a white R3, I went on a day round trip to Scotland to look at one as they're not common either - although it was not to be. Sometimes it goes the right way, sometimes the wrong way but you'll never know if you don't go ("you'll never shine if you don't glow - hey now!..." good ol' all star, anyways, back to the message, yeah~) :guns:

With the limited number you've got to work with, they won't be popping up frequently around you, and that's a 40th in any condition, forget just good ones. You'll likely be looking at 3-4k I reckon if someone knows they've got a really good 40th, but anything over that and yeah, it's heading quickly towards R3 territory. Heck, I got my R3 for just over what that guy wants for his 40th, and mine has only done 5k more miles total and had an RR engine rebuild.

It may take a while if you're dead set on a type, but it's worth it when you get the perfect one sitting on your drive :thumleft:

What HarSc said Really good that the master reset and comp test is only 2 weeks old I would seriously look at buying it (not biased or anything since I have a 40th) although the tread plates in the picture didn't have a number on them? maybe another member can clear that up but it did look like they had a cover on them so just something to enquire about

I wouldn't worry about the number thing. The # plates were supplied separately to the dealers and many didn't fit them because

There was recently a copart sale for a white 40th, went for just over £1k before fees and was at the site up the road from me. I put a low bid in but easily passed my number. Would be fun to see if it ends up back on the road and what condition it's sold in... :-k hell of a steal if the engine is good, but then I wonder why it was at copart hah! Wasn't sold as running or driving, and battery was dead. Thought it was interesting, not particularly on topic

Copart is usually associated with insurance write-offs but can also include stolen/recovery, and stock from dealers that have ceased trading.

True... Couldn't seem to see the seller though (insurer vs 3rd party etc) and even though HPI was clear, everything else history wise is not shown, as is common with them. It's just a bit interesting, and makes it even more of a gamble going through copart especially with a rotary   I just enjoy looking at whacky examples that sell or are put up for sale

I contacted the guy in Wakefield. He has owned the car for 1 month. He got it off ebay when it was up for £3.2k. I'm not sure if he's driveway car dealer or just trying to make a quick buck.

It looks like a nice car though, just go in with your eyes open. For someone who is looking to make money from it, he still couldn't be bothered to do decent photos and the text is basically copy and paste from the advert that he bought it from.

To add to what xstian said it's also on FB marketplace as thinking to sell the car and advertising it at 4k instead of 4.2k of ebay, could be genuine reason for a quick sale as he also says open to offers, I will say again I can vouch for travelling for a good example, don't know if they will be able to tell you but if your are interested in the car it could be worth giving RR a call and see if they remember the car as it's pretty recent they may be able to tell you more about the cars condition from an experts stand point!
