Personally I'm not too sure. If you have a mechanic you personally trust and they're willing to, that's a good idea, it's in Nottingham, so I don't know if any of the local traders do pre purchase inspections, worth an ask though maybe :thumleft: another member might have a better idea than me though of who'd do it, maybe even a member if they're close by and don't mind? :-k just thinking out loud here so if I'm off base someone can correct me

Hope you can find someone and it looks good if you go for it! 8)

Pre-Covid this was a common thing for members to offer.

These days it's a bit more complicated...

Thanks guys.
I’ve asked for the service history details and who carried out compression test and the readings.
So, if they comeback to me with that info and all looks ok, then may well go and view it.
Possibly make them an offer.
Regards.
Dave.

If you can't find someone local (there is a list of known specialists here viewtopic.php?f=25&t=36531 ) try Luke Murdoch (Murdoch's Rotary Specialist - there is a link to his Facebook page there) - he is mobile and will travel anywhere in the country and I'm pretty sure giving cars a good look over is one of the services he provides. I can personally recommend him, he is very good.

Spoken to garage, really helpful chap, quite impressed.
Car has been serviced 4 times, twice Mazda, once somewhere else & garage that is currently selling it.

Had a compression test in 2019, he would like to get an up to date test, but struggling to find anyone in current climate.

I need to see compression figures though really. He did say who done test, but have forgot, need to ask again.

He got it for his own use, but has decided to sell it.

Car sounds ok to me, also I think priced not to bad.
