2 years of RX8 ownership, just joined the forum and OC
Hi,
My name is Vince, and I have had my 231 for just about 2 years now. Although I have been using the forum since before I even bought the car I have only just go round to joining both the forum and the owners club.
I have a 2004 231 with about 88k miles on the original engine. Since owning the car I have uprated the starter motor, replaced/upgraded the battey, installed some tein lowering springs, ss CAT, some other small cosmetic changes, had some recalls done and some service items.
Like most I have always loved the FD RX7 but I didn't have the money (and still don't) to afford one of them but needed to scratch the rotary itch so looked into RX8's.
I picked mine up for Β£800 back in 2018 with a couple of thousand less miles on the clock, aware that a rebuild would more than likely be in my near future. This being my second car I thought it was worth the risks.
The car has been off the road for the last year and should be back on the road in the next month.
Hopefully when the world returns to a more normal state I will meet some of you at shows etc!

Re: 2 years oo RX8 ownership, just joint the forum and OC
After 2 years ownership you should know all about the pitfalls of owning an RX-8 ie there really isn`t any if they are looked after correctly.

Welcome! Theres a good few of us around the Southampton/Poole/Bournemouth/Salisbury area so you're in good company.
If you've got any work that needs doing RX Motors in Salisbury is highly recommended, probably your closest specialist, and one who goes under the radar a bit.
Hopefully get to meet you at a future event!

What paint did you use on the wheels? Looks like they came out really well.

Lots of choices. Many folks go with top passenger corner of the windscreen.

I like one of the rear windows. They're perfect for stickers.
I did toy with putting it in the other car, just to mess with people.
