Rebuild

Post by Steven bagshaw »

Hello, just joined the rx8 club. Had my 2006 rx8 for about 9 years and think the compression has failed, changed the plugs and coils (no difference),showing all the signs (trouble starting when hot). Any of you know the best place for a rebuild?, I'm in Rotherham, south yorkshire. Thanks in advance.
Regards steve.

Talking about subscriptions,
Anyway that problem's been solved.
To all rx8 owners who are articulate with the English language, any ideas with rx8 car covers?.
Having my engine rebuilt next month and have no garage, so need a decent cover?.

mod edit: unacceptable language.

Some Rx8 owners have a sence of humour 😀 some don't.
When asking for help it may be advisable to build bridge's.

Other than dust covers on a dry car in a garage, which doesn’t apply here, car covers do more harm than good by retaining moisture and causing scratches. Special situations such as a missing bonnet are best dealt with by covering that area alone or, better still, replacing the bonnet (if you drop the subframe and engine as Mazda do then this doesn’t apply).

If space permits consider a Carcoon
Basically a large air bubble the car sits it.
Nothing touches the car at all.
They do turn up used on EBay and the like.

Thank you people for your kind responses, but I will be leaving the rx8 club when my subs run out (did I really say subs).
I will continue the restoration on my own.

I never like to see people leave when they still own an RX8 and especially when still working on the car. Renewal is £26 and well worth it to keep in touch regarding events, discounts and advice.
All the best whatever you decide to do.
