Seat switch came off - failed MOT
Hi, seat switch was prone to falling off so wedged it on with bit blue tack actually in the switch itself. Had forgotten about it as don't need to adjust it, had MOT last week and failed as the short arsed examiner needed to move seat forward and it came off in his hand. My question is, having looked at switch properly, is that it looks like something is missing from inside of switch. Are there any small plastic inserts or anything on the inside? The switch won't stay on without the blue tack holding it on. The adjuster mechanisms themselves, the three little things that protrude from seat look ok, but the switch will not stay attached without the blue tack, so I think there's something missing. Any thoughts appreciated.

Re: Seat switch came off - failed MOT
I was going to comment that I would take my business elsewhere next time if I was failed on such a minor issue but the location explains it.warpc0il wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 12:46 pmHi Andrew, I've only just seen your location.

Do you mean the main one piece bit? Mine came off 3 years ago just leaving the 2 toggles and has been through the mot 3 times in Lisburn no problems.

Re: Seat switch came off - failed MOT
N'ards can be very picky with mot's as they're the training centre.
I've known of cars failing there with things that haven't raised as issues at other sites.
A friend's Italian motorhome failed on tinted windows, despite them being the factory fit and not films.
He had to take a day trip to Scotland to get an mot, before he could sell it.

He should pick another center then, he doesn't need to go to N'ards. That's awful.
