Got to say, especially if you're limiting yourself to a 40th, especially if for a specific colour of 40, you will have to travel to find a good example. Similar to me with wanting a white R3, I went on a day round trip to Scotland to look at one as they're not common either - although it was not to be. Sometimes it goes the right way, sometimes the wrong way but you'll never know if you don't go ("
you'll never shine if you don't glow - hey now!..." good ol' all star, anyways, back to the message, yeah~)
With the limited number you've got to work with, they won't be popping up frequently around you, and that's a 40th in any condition, forget just good ones. You'll likely be looking at 3-4k I reckon if someone knows they've got a really good 40th, but anything over that and yeah, it's heading quickly towards R3 territory. Heck, I got my R3 for just over what that guy wants for his 40th, and mine has only done 5k more miles total and had an RR engine rebuild.
It may take a while if you're dead set on a type, but it's worth it when you get the perfect one sitting on your drive
