Post by bunch1980 » Sat Dec 24, 2016 8:45 am

Anyone tried these? Look good easy to fit and remove. Though bet rear window is hard to fit. I guess condensation under maybe a problem to.

Window tints

Post by cjpsu » Sun Jan 01, 2017 9:16 am

Hi,

Has anyone tried window tints from these guys ?

http://www.solarplexius.co.uk/Sun-prote ... /rx-8/2009

Like the ability to remove and reinsert but not sure on how good e fit will be and whether they move / come out

Seem a lot cheaper too !

Thanks

I was tempted but then did think a lot for some plastic and how well would fit each individual car to plus my condensation issue.

Wife has these in her car and I can say they are rather nice.
Top tip when fitting is to ensure the inside of the glass is spotlessly clean before fitting them as finger marks show up

Any pics? do they just slot in and fit tight between seals or something?

I have to say I do like the idea of these. I've been wanting to tint the '8 for while so I may give them a go.
Phil's subtle sunlight silver - stronger, faster, with added red bits and stuff engine donor!

Just spoken to someone on the website via their live chat.
The tint is 90% and appears black from the outside and is described as looking through sunglasses from the inside.

The provide free replacement clips on request, assuming you don't ask for them constantly.

The adviser also provided me with a 10% discount code UK2015

Delivery time is currently 4-6 days

Not sure on the fit either, especially on the side windows with the doors being opened ...

To be honest I never really paid that much attention to them when I was over there at Christmas.
I know they were in the car when she bought and she refitted them with help from my stepson.

I have aske her to take some pics.... she also mentions that the car was noticeably cooler in the summer

Thanks, not so keen on it being dark from inside but guess would not work otherwise, at night can't be best visibility?

Discount good thanks.

Would imagine not be able to open, as rear is like glass pressed against seal if open be loose unless clips as above are designed to hold in when open to.
I dont think I have ever opened rear windows and never take passengers so be ok there!
