Thats the guy i emailed, he said if i could take indepth pics of the RHD car, he may be able to adapt it, although he is putting a FULL kit together including the Sohn in the next few weeks, so it be worth hanging on.

He would also have thought he would be very keen to do a UK group buy too, as i told him nobody offers these in the UK and he was suprised.

Someone was talking about this kit recently, he's working with the supplier to adapt it to RHD cars. I can't remember who it was but I'll dig it out

Here we go:
Abarthisking wrote:Its a shame that no one can pick up where Rob left off.

I would have but I am trying to sort out a deal with this guy http://epitroch.com/ he is sending me a prototype RHD version but the only thing I am lacking is the sohn. :(

Once I have fitted this and gave feedback to the manufacture I will post the info on prices. He has more or less agreed to offer members discount if it all works OK. (he just need feedback from me fist before he commits to building this version)

He posted it out to me on the 19th March and I should have it next week. I will be able to install the kit and take photos but not having a sohn I cant install it to it. I was planning to buy the adapter at the end of April (family first car second)

If anyone wants info pm me and I will help where I can.

I bought one on spec, it looks like it will fit, but the rivets are on the wrong side, my sohn adaptor arrived this week, so will be having a bash in the next week or so

The 2T tank looks rather small.

I am in talks with the guy that makes them he is sending me a prototype RHD version.

Once its here he will be able to offer full members a discount as part of my agreement for been his test subject. But normal price will apply to none members......sorry

He will also be able at some point for the removal of the evil Mazda logo and offer one of your own choosing but he is working on a cheap way to do this at the moment.

I will post my findings once it arrives which should be this week.

Or is it the other way round? In which case there is no level sensor for the 2T and the washer tank is way too small for everyday use in the UK (especially with headlamp washers.) I'd seriously recommend just going for a scooter 2T tank with level sensor.

Or... See if it is possible to get bigger tanks with this kit and fit a level sensor.

Had a day off yesterday so had a play with getting my kit fitted

Stage 1, get the plate to fit

First job to get the plate fitted. flipping it round is a pretty good fit, there are 2 issues

1. The rivnuts are on the wrong side, easily solved. 10mm drill bit in the pilar drill and they are gone. Now replaced with equivelant rivnuts from my draw, but installed from the other side.

Image

2. The plate itself needs trimming to prevent it from fouling a pipe coming through the firewall. In reality a 10- 15mm trim would have been sufficient. I got a little carried way.

Image

3. the top mounting hole nearest the passenger wing, needs elongating to a slot rather than a hole

Stage 2, Fit the bottles

no big deal here, all fitted on the plate and in the car with no issues,

I do reckon the bottles would still fit if bigger though, there is room for the small washer bottle to be an inch taller and the 2 stroke bottle to be at least 3 inches taller

Stage 3 Fitting the hardware to the bottles

This little lot appears to be the relay for the washer level sender and the secondary pump for the headlight washers. There is no provision for this so I guess either the US don't have them at all, or the kit was designed for a 192 which may not have the headlight washers?

Image

I figured I'd worry about the level sensor later, so first the secondary pump.

The stock washer bottle has another hole for the secondary pump, the new one doesn't. To get around this I dismantled the pipe and rubber seal assembly for the secondary pump.

drilled a hole (14mm) in the side of the new bottle, and reused the seal from the pump in this hole. I inserted the plastic elbow from the stock pipe into the seal and its a perfect leak free fit

Image

Now With pics of relocated secondary pump and relay

Image

fortunately there is a hole and threaded stud in clo proximity to the bottles, so an easy relocation of the secondary pump and really was not much of an issue

Pretty much under/behind the battery tray.

That kit looks promising with some tweeks.

With luck mine will be here this week.

The only difference with my kit is I will not need to remove the rivets as he already reversed them on this one to make it RHD.......but the washer bottle mod I will need to carry out.....apart from the headlight washer part as my MS front bumper does not have them fitted.

I will also post pictures once I have it fitted........thanks markiii for your pictures at least now I will not go in blind when installing it.

The OMP is at the bottom of the engine, front of the block, offside. If you look down below the main rad hoses you can see the OMP lines going to it. The adaptor itself fits between the pump and the block.

Thanks. So what benefit does installing the tank on the opposite side have?
