I got my piano black ashtray and handles from the same place as the link above. Still a rip off for what they are but it is a bit cheaper than elsewhere and it makes such a difference to the interior. The unfinished look on the stereo where it abruptly ends annoyed me every time I got in so I am so glad I went for them.

I would also love to have the steering wheel pieces ever since I saw them at a meet. If I can not get the proper ones I have some 'silverhook' glossy black spray paint that I may give a go. Anyone any idea of an easy way to remove these pieces?

I been looking at www.japanparts.com & they sell the Steering Wheel Piano Black, but only if you also have the Cruise Control Switches :!: :(

£65 for the Ash Tray Panel is a bit too much on Ebay,so I will carry on looking.

The Deflectors I might be able to get in this Country,as there is a Company that advertises in the Auto Express Magazine. :)

So you bought the ashtray panel on it's own not with the door handle pieces? Was this used, who from, how much?

If you did you will probably now need to be lucky to get the door bits on there own as they are usually sold together new.

Unusual to have got them sold seperatly :?: :!:

If you do get the steering wheel pieces from Japanparts I would not mind sharing postage with you and get some as well if you wanted. I reckon they will be a right faff to fit though.

Just a quick update No.2 :D

Piano Black Trims & Side Deflectors :-

1. Ash Tray Panel Bought on eBay 07/10/08
2. Steering Wheel Spokes for Right Hand Drive RX8 Bought from Japanparts Nov 2008
3. Door Handle Surrounds Bought on eBay 07/10/08
4. Smoked Dark Grey Tint Side Deflectors Bought on eBay 08/10/08

Graham you were 100% right about buying the Piano Black bits,as the bits all came in one Kit. 8) So all I need to get now is the Piano Black Steering Wheel Spokes.
Your spray idea is quite good,or I might do what Chris is doing & that is wait & see if RX8Strakes offer them on their Website.
I fitted all the above items to my RX8 this afternoon :D ,so at some point I post some pictures up :!:

Glad to hear you got your bits and have been able to fit them Nigel.
I only got the door handle bits when I got my bits but then they did only cost me a fiver and I knew I wasn't going to get the ashtray bit. So I guess I'll just have to keep an eye open for that bit although if I ever get round to getting the Racing Beat Dials I guess I won't need the ashtray bit :D .

The flash makes the ashtray look a completly different coolour! It matches well though normally right?

You need to get Piano black B pillar bits now to finish of the windows with a glossy look. They make a big difference especially with a nice rotary logo on. 8)

Did you file a bit of the ashtray cover off to get that wire through? Once stuck down those covers aint going nowhere. Mine rubs slightly on the first bit of opening but I do not think I could have put it on any better and although a bit anoying I can live with it.

That wire fits through the gap as usual. The Black alot darker & blends in nicely, but its annoying that the flash went off :!:
I might get the door bits in due course, but first I want to do something with the Lights. :)

That 'something' being 501 LED's all round alla my 8?

Makes a big difference, and in the dark my car is now like a flood light on wheels when the door is opened!

Got em in my,

Glove Box
Door card lights
Boot light
Front side lights
Roof courtesy lights

Yet to fit them in my wing mirror puddle lights as it is a bit more of a faff...

Also looking to get LED clusters for my rear lights but finding 'E' marked push fit ones is proving a bit hard. :?

I would be very interested to see what the stealer wanted for those. If they come in at under 100 quiid I would be surprised.

Definetly prefer my spray method they look bloomin excellent and cost just about 9 pounds for 3 cans of paint that I will be using on other stuff anyway.

Now I just need some advice for fitting... [-o<
