Can't say that the welds are superb on it from an aesthetic point of view, but mine still doesn't leak gas which is the main thing for me and the tips polish up nice.

There's a certain satisfaction from keeping your tips polished up :D

I probably should explain what I mean bit more in-depth with my post.

My points are mainly based on the price factor. For the money, I’d expect it to be tig welded, higher grade stainless and polish finish on the pipe work, lastly boxed correctly.

Huge welds etc as mention, is what I’d expect from a £200-£450 price bracket.

My picture is of a £1,000 worth. The twin silenced de cat is just shocking to be honest, look at that baffle.

If toyo-sport can tig weld and polish etc etc and still make money at sub £150-£250, then you see more my point.

Now this is where it gets silly, I like the idea of the system, I like the tail pipe style and the sound it makes.

If I wasn’t in the financial position that I can afford to justify an over priced item, I wouldnt buy this new. Second hand, yes, and I did only to replace with new, my bad.

You made a good point Goobie. Given that my £70 (delivered!) Toyo decat is well made and TBH faultless, I'd expect an exhaust costing 10 times that to be at least as well made... but really it should be much better.

So given that Toyo exhausts are (as pointed out) well made and nicely polished, doesn't anyone find paying 10 times that for an exhaust which sounds different a bit... weird?!

I'd honestly like convincing as to why a different exhaust sound is worth the notes you guys are throwing down. If I'm happy with the Toyo sound and their exhaust works... is that it? Anything else to gain from spending heaps more?

I can see the benefit of the RRP Titanium one because it's super light, or their Active system. They've got clearly defined features.

As you say, sound and looks are subjective and comes down to what you're happy with and what fits within your budget. I'll be inspecting my exhaust system at the beginning of the summer to see how winter has affected it, just hoping it doesn't look the picture's above!

Well, whilst I agree with the above points about the toyosport decat pipe, I have to say that I have had 2 Toyo decats fail on me. They both split on the leading edge of the resonator - a bit with no welds. The stainless is incredibly thin on the toyo items - so it's not just about what is visible :thumleft:

Well Feck me side ways those don't look good! I have been looking for a replacement exhaust system for a while as mine like my coils have to be on its last legs etc. My bloody heart has been set on a Pettit system probably longer than some have owned an RX8, however that's just put me right off!! For anyone that needs to know I was Coded up to 6GR TIG/MMA/MIG/Flux Core MIG in the petrol chemical ind.

I did some work on Finnish Airforce MIG-15's. Those things were built like tanks and you didn't want to stand too close to their exhaust when running... :D
