PZ spoiler fitting

Post by The Ginga NinjRx8 » Fri May 11, 2018 2:56 pm

I managed to pick up a PZ spoiler the other day and was hoping to be an easy fit but from the instructions on here your left with holes.

Just went to a garage and to do all the work was quoted £300

Wondered if anyone else has done it and if price is good or not. I think it's good

if u not confident to fit yourself(it's really not that difficult to fit spoiler) just a bit of care needed.
but 300 quid is that supply and fit spoiler

I wouldn't pay nowhere near 300quid just to fit one it's no more than about an hour work.

It's not that I can't it's the holes I want them filled in properly as the spoiler doesn't cover old holes does it?

A PZ spoiler should cover holes from a lip spoiler i believe.

If not finding a replacement boot without one and having a go yourself will be much much cheaper.

The PZ spoiler definitely covers the holes :thumleft: it's the main reason I went with one on my red car.
If it doesn't, then you've done something wrong...

So you have to make a new hole but does cover the old holes?

If so I will so myself lol

Yes. The new holes are a little further forward, but the PZ spoiler definitely covers all four holes left by the lip spoiler.

Did you manage to fit it I went a cheaper way and had this gem from r3 but price was 80 delivered to my door same colour and mint condition.
Took me less than a hour to measure and drill thanks to Dave he give me tips how to do the job easy
I just leav the black plasticks as I have two holes in the middle

had this gem from r3 same colour..
Unless the R3 it came from was resprayed, that spoiler will be Sparkling Black (metallic),and not the solid black of your car ;)

It'll be quite noticeable in bright sunlight..

Following Ian's instructions, does anyone have a good suggestion to use instead of the UNI-templates?
I've just bought a PZ spoiler and really don't want to buy a new boot lid because I've mounted this spoiler wonky.
Cheers.

A blob of toothpaste on the studs will leave a witness on the boot lid, if you mark up the approximate area with masking tape then use the blob of toothpaste method you can then measure from the edges to the witness to make sure its central and in the correct position
