Tour de Snowdon 2025 - 20th - 21st Sept 25

Post by DrewR3 »

Tour de Snowdon 2025

**September**
This year is a one day drive, following the similar route to past weekends, but only pre-ordering the hotel room's and main meal. But will tie in our usual Blaenau Ffestiniog hotel for a late lunch.

This time an end of season run, 20th-21st. To also integrate with the Javelin Anglesey Trackday on 22nd

This will not be the full 2 day drive, instead it will be a meet on day 1 (Sat) at the hotel for 1800hrs pre-drinks in the Dory Lounge (Hotel Check-in from 1500hrs if she wish to use spa facilities or relax prior). We will then be seated for approx 1900hrs for a 1930 3 course meal, with drinks and potentially activities throughout and after. Day 2 (Sun) will be a leisurely start to ensure everyone has had there full breakfast and recovered from Sat night, meeting at 1000hrs by our private car park area for a 1030hrs latest depart, comprising of aan extended drive through the mountains and down to Rhug estate, stopping for lunch en route which whill either be BYO or avail at the stop (Tesco/Lidl is 1 mile from hotel for Fuel and food the day before). At Rhug estate we can say farewell to those whoe wish to depart Wales via the A5 southbound (Chirk/Oswestry) and the rest can travel back upto the North Welsh coast where our hotel will be from night 1. (The premium hotel in north wales where many celebs, multiple PMs, international sports teams stay)

What does this mean in brief?

1.The new start will be Deganwy Quay Hotel in Conwy, where we usually stay.
2. We will be doing the similar 1-way route, instead of 2 smaller routes over 2 days. This will give a whole different route context to those who came previously.
3. There maybe a pre booked lunch, pending what people want or their is plenty of locations to stop with a BYO picnic style if preferred. We will stop at the same pub as usual for either drink or rest or purchase individual lunch. Again this will depend on what we decide or BYO lunch to eat by the car. I will add stops, times and locats on the route plan later.
4. I will use my usual contact Image to reduce rates at the normal evening hotel of the Deganwy Quay for Sat evening.
5. Day 2 will be wake at your leisure, breakfast and then explore Wales.

Partner and Family welcome, please let me know if you are so I can add +1 etc above and know if you need sgl, dbl or Family room.

Hotel Details:
The Quay Hotel & Spa
Deganwy Quay,
Deganwy,
Conwy,
LL31 9DJ

Website:
https://quayhotel.co.uk/

Prices as guidelines below for 3 course dinner and room with full breakfast in the morning. Dinner will be at 1930 with us looking at arriving there from 1500 to use facilities.

Last years qoute as a guide:
£235 for Sgl occupancy room with Dinner, B+B
£289 for dual occupancy Dbl or Twin room with x2 Dinner, B+B

If this becomes the AM for the club, it is likely the above will be reduced, as usual we would be looking to provide the evening meal as a minimum which would reduce the above based on last years price to:

£200 for Sgl Dinner, B+B
£250 for Dbl Dinner B+B
£215 for Dbl Dinner B+B for x2 Paid members

Done. You can always bring the Audi TT if you've not blown that up either

Javelin have a track day at Anglesey on Monday 22nd Sept. Doing a double header road trip and track day would be enough to tempt me all the way up there.

You mean the drive I do every week 🤣

The 20th-21st is looking favoured at the moment. Perhaps it may tempt a few other track goers.

Maybe, although we'd have to come up with a group plan to fill the Sunday if enough people want to do the drive and track. Maybe something like zipworld?

I think you win the club award for most unreasonable commute

Looking an OK turnout quite quickly, 6 of us so far. Not that I wish to encourage signing up promptly but we may cap this at about 15 cars. It just becomes quite hard to manage a Convoy bigger than that through mountain roads and multiple junctions in small towns

Bump for interest. Pending if this becomes the AM, we will change the agenda slightly to a travel day sat to hotel, meet and greet at 1800 in foyer sat, club dinner at 1900, after drinks from 2100.....0830 breakfast in hotel, 1030 depart on Snowdon drive from coastal hotel, 1330 lunch, 1430 depart, 1630 rhug estate where people can choose to break off and exit wales or we will head back to hotel or A55 northern exit for 1730. Those on track day Monday can stay in hotel or move on closer to Anglesey
