Cotswold Drive 2025 - June 28th 2025!

This is the official attendance thread for the Cotswold Drive 2025! The full route is being devised, ensuring a great mix of tree-line avenues, iconic Cotswold scenery and some fantastic petrol-focussed stops.

The plan is for a full day of fun in the sun (let's be hopeful!) starting with breakfast at a car-centric meeting point on the edge of the 'wolds. We will then head off in to the Cotswolds, covering some amazing roads and vistas, some great photo opps and then culminating in a late afternoon lunch/ dinner at Caffeine and Machine!

As for cost, obviously being a drive the main cost will be fuel. Breakfast will be at the Cotswold Barn (menu here: https://www.cotswoldbarn.com/menu). The meet at Caffeine and Machine later in the day requires a £10 entrance ticket to be purchased, but does entitle you to £5 off your food/ drink. Information on ticket purchasing and times will be sent later, do not buy anything yet!

Just by way of an update, I've had confirmation from The Cotswold Barn that we can have VIP parking allocated to us on the 28th of June for the morning for up to 2 hours from 9am

Hi All, sorry for the delay in sending the info out!

Everyone will receive a PM shortly, but to give an idea of the route and timings:

We will meet at The Cotswold Barn at 9am for some breakfast, chats and chill.

Then we will embark on the first part of our route at about 10am which will take us through the Cotswold countryside, taking in Broadway Tower, past Bourton-on-the-Water, and snaking through the wolds all the way to the lunch stop at The Lodge at Lake 12 in the Cotswold Water Park - weather permitting this should make a great stop for a wander and a stretch of the legs and a coffee, snack and chat. This is about 2 hours of drive, depending on traffic and takes in some great views and roads!

After a bit of a rest stop we will embark again on our route from The Lakes - anticipating a departure time of approx 1pm we'll then travel a winding route back through the Swells, through Bourton-on-the-Water this time, down the sweeping curves of Fish Hill before snaking up past Mickleton to Caffeine and Machine for about 3:30pm where we'll have our last meet, photo op etc. before everyone heading their separate ways whenever they fancy!

Any questions etc. then please let me know. The total route is approximately 130 miles, but is a friendly mix of cruising, country road blasts etc. so should be doable in a single tank for an RX8 - even mine

Fuel near the start can be found in Stow on the Wold BP (https://maps.app.goo.gl/HWeAKVDdw4pBXqNy8) if approaching from the south, or Trooper's Lodge Texaco (https://maps.app.goo.gl/xVVMRhinPoF72RTX8) if approaching from the north. There are others available, of course, and there is a service station near the lakes at the halfway point should people need/ wish a top up for their car as well as themselves!

I was looking forward to this, a drive in a lovely area of the UK with like minded rotary enthusiasts.

Sadly, recent family events have forced me to change my plans for this weekend.
