Sorry Willberry for not keeping on top of adding names to the list. I am really surprised by the number of people interested in the run, particularly as it's in November.
I'll keep checking every day now!

Thatturborx8, You are enquiring about times. You've been a part of this club for some time now, so I guess you've done a few drives with other members in the past.
According to the Rush Magazine's route map it's around a 50 mile route ending up back where we set off from. They say it's around a 2 hour run, yes maybe with just yourself and a mate in another car.
So far we have 10 people interested in going on this drive. With a group as large as ours, how long would you anticipate this run would take us?
The reason I'm asking is what time on the Saturday would you set a deadline to arrive and set off? Because if I can get the key for the cricket club's car park say around 9.30am from the lady at the pub, and we use this as a starting out point, and as i've previously stated once you've arrived, you can walk the 100yds to the pub meet up with everyone else, have a brew, use the loo and order you meal for when we all return later.
I'm suggesting 11.30am set off time and anticipating the run will take us three and a half hours tops to do, getting back to the pub at 3.00pm, have dinner by 4.30pm at the latest, have the meeting over with by 6.00pm'ish and all depart around then. Is this feasable if not what would timings would you suggest?

That sounds some good timings, remembering some people will be 4hrs travel to you. Having access from 10ish to parking would be good and perhaps give people that 2hr window to arrive and freshen, with a 12 leave? Back for 3ish. We could potentially tie in our CM meeting for then if the premise has a room for 8-10 we could use for upto 1.5hrs, the rest of you perhaps enjoying a beer and talk would whittle away that 1.5hrs and hopefully we will be out quicker. Then we can all enjoy the 430 meal and depart after. That would work quite well for us and I believe we have a strong CM uptake in our group, at about 8 of the 10 now I think of new and old.

Right-oh! chaps, Just spoke to the lady from the pub. All good news... They have a conference room you can use for the meeting when we get back from the drive around 3.00pm.
She's sending me a menu over that I'll post a link to it somehow so you can peruse it, so you can let them know what you'd like when you arrive in the morning for the meals that will all be served together at 4.30pm in the afternoon.
The car park will be open from 9.30am. I'll make sure I'll be there for then. so you can arrive from then onwards, The pub will be selling teas and coffees (probably alcoholic drinkies also) when you arrive.
The post code of the cricket club's car park is the same as the pub's which is SK13 7SH for your sat-navs. The pub is called 'The Commercial Inn'
That Side's pretty sorted now... I'll crack on now sorting the waypoints for the drive. I'll take it that everyone will be fueled up with their chosen petrol prior to arriving in the car park in the morning...

It’s shaping up well and hopefully will become a regular meet on the clubs calendar.

I'm upgraded to a definite now, I've got a pass from the missus 'n' everything!
Looking forward to this, it'll be my first time at anything like this, I've never owned a car that had a club associated with it!!
I got my club welcome pack yesterday too, all very exciting. Sadly, the membership card lasted barely 2 hours before the dog got hold of it and sunk her teeth into it... but the keyring & sticker are mint, cheers fellas!

It's now looking like my car might be fixed in time for this. Can't commit to anything, but if it's fixed by the time this happens I'd be coming up north to pick it up anyway, might as well come say hi while I'm up there

If we make stops for pictures or so it will take 3 hours, yes.Miluminations wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 11:03 amThatturborx8, You are enquiring about times. You've been a part of this club for some time now, so I guess you've done a few drives with other members in the past.

Is this feasable if not what would timings would you suggest?
If we just drive the drive is no more than 1 hour and 45 minutes, 2 hours tops so based on that you can make up the starting time. Also one hour meeting before sett off time will be more than enough, usually the ones travelling from further away will take their time and set off earlier but i agree that 10:30 or 11:00 is a good time to meet up.

I went the other way, Newcastle to Cornwall - about as far away as you can get without leaving the country (though that wasn't intentional!)
There's at least as much rain here as there, but there's a lot of ocean around here skewing the numbers upwards
